  • Most of the fuel stations are still getting deliveries - so chances are you should be able to get some tomorrow.

Don't worry about the uni being isolated. I went to a rural one and loved it.

  • Well car has been collected. It's nice to actually get a response when you put your foot down! I managed to fill up with £35 on the way back so as long as I can fill right up by Friday we should be ok for our weekend away. I will be using the old car for work on Wednesday and Thursday and by then the petrol should be low enough for me to move it on.

Sh glad you enjoyed a rural uni. I am more concerned that there won't be opportunity for work placements etc, but we will be quizzing them about all this when we visit.

I did a work placement one year in Cheltenham despite going to uni in Wales... I am sure they will have arrangements if it is part of the course.

Well weekend away was cancelled. The wierd one got up yesterday and complained about a headache. He is so rarely ill and never moans so rang him in sick. Figured he was over tired as no other symptoms but did a LF test, negative. Went to work. Hubby said the wierd on had been up all morning playing the switch so figured he was fine. Got in from work and he was asleep on bed, an absolute no for him!!!! After the school run I got him up and gave him food and drink. An hour later he had barely moved and had a raised temp so did another LF which came back very positive 😱😭

So PCR tests were booked for this morning. Me, him the two teens as we are the ones going out and about. Teens still working as no symptoms and NHS guidelines state they don't have to isolate unless the PCR comes back positive. Should hear tomorrow. If mine is negative I will still work except for one client who is vulnerable, in fact even if the wierd ones PCR is negative I won't do that clients this week due to the treatment she is having. Either way I have been exposed to a virus even if it's not the virus and I know she is being super careful even around colds and stuff.

So weekend away had to be cancelled. Moved the hotel....again 🙄 cancelled restaurant booking but we had tickets to an attraction which I don't think will be moveable. Have emailed to see if they will. Downside of most places wanting you to book beforehand. We have rebooked for the new year so will see.

Have a theme park booked on Tuesday. If the wierd one is positive and we are negative we may have to cancel just so there is someone home with him. But we booked through husband's work scheme so not sure we can shift them. Cost £84 will be super annoyed if we can't go.

Seriously, worst timing ever. Also the wierd one got up this morning and is absolutely fine. No symptoms at all!!!

So the smallest had a positive LF on Wednesday (been doing them daily for him) so PCR done for him and me (even though my LF was negative) have come back negative 🤷 I have a stinking head cold, but I don't understand how he has a positive LF (and it was very positive) but negative PCR. He shares a bedroom with the infected child and isn't vaccinated!

Anyway I am going off the NHS guidelines so will be taking the girl to a uni open day that is booked tomorrow. The wierd one is still isolating and the smallest won't leave the house all weekend. He didn't go to school Thursday as was testing, or today as test results came in mid morning. I didn't work Thursday, but did today.

Barely slept last night due to cold symptoms, have to pick the girl up from work at 10, and be up early tomorrow to drive to the open day. Am wrecked.

However sold the old car, have a bit of a holiday pot building up which is nice.

Uni open day done. It will definitely be applied for, the girl loved it. It was a lovely small campus and isn't too far away from us. Unfortunately it is one of the pricier ones for accommodation (outside London) so there would be a big shortfall to make up, and the course is heavy on trips and additional costs. She needs to save save save a lot this year!
