So the girl passed her theory test, and managed to negotiate trains to and from the town it was in. I wasn't able to go with her in the end as I had to take the boy to the college to enroll for his course. So he is all signed up for September. I rang the other college he had applied to to let them know he wouldn't be enrolling. The course he had applied to is very very popular so I thought it would be best to let them know in order to offer it to someone else.

Took all three boys to London to see horrible histories. I had originally booked for just the two of them, but when I checked the site there was one spare seat next to us so I offered to take the other one. He wasn't too keen but I pointed out how many buses there would be there (he is slightly obsessed with them atm) so he agreed. We walked across westminster bridge and there were buses galore! It was a nice day out, although we did have to stand the whole way to London as the train was so crowded.

I am back covering at my other job this week. Feeling semi confident, but did have to double check some stuff today. I am back properly on the 6th, and am really looking forward to it now.

Have picked up another client with my other job, have one space left, but it's an odd time so will see what comes up.

Money wise this month ahs been a bit of a disaster. Hubby gets paid this week and I doubt I will have anything left. I am riding a float on the credit card, but the boys room has a new carpet, we have booked a hotel for a weekend away in October and I have spent more in petrol than normal. However I know September is often expensive with back to school stuff, am dreading it tbh!

I take back about looking forward to getting back to the other job. Today has been so stressful! All done now, but this week has thrown up some complications which has really highlighted at how little I know. I have to keep reminding myself that I actually only worked for three months in the job, and these one offs this year have been covering holiday so haven't even had the back up of the person who trained me being about. I am sure I will be fine, although I will be doing some more admin based stuff too so will need extra support with that. It's a bit daunting as previously the admin has been done by a fully qualified office admin. I just feel I have been floundering a little bit this week.

Had to cancel a tip appointment I had for tomorrow as am going to have to cover a client I couldn't get to today.

I feel like I need a nice long walk to de-stress. Don't think there is much chance of finding the time this week though. Maybe if the weather holds later. Also feeling the guilt as the little two have done barely anything this holiday.

We are off to my in laws at the weekend. They have moved to a new house so looking forward to seeing it and them. The girl is working so will stay home with the cats. The boy is still waiting for his first shift so may be able to come with us will probably decide last minute.

Still trying to avoid looking at finances, have to find a London trip on Thursday, but have the train ticket money set aside, and we are any going for the evening, but will need some food. And petrol to see in laws. Once there we won't be spending money though. Also need to look at what children need before school and college. The boy needs some new t shirts and I said I would buy some, just need to get him to choose some!

Anyway need to go and eat some lunch

  • Trip to London was fun, musical was aimed at teens, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, had read mixed reviews but it was fun and very on topic for now I think. Teens enjoyed it too.

Went to visit the in-laws this weekend, they have moved to Wales, so nice to visit somewhere we haven't been much before. This time we had to meet a lot of different people (they have moved near fil relatives who we have never met, he got together with mil when hubby was mid teens so hubby never visited them with him) it was nice to put faces to names and fil just seemed so happy there. They are currently staying in a house for free so may end up staying there long term, if not they hope to not move too far I think. It was easy for us, 2hrs away now rather then 3.5. I can certainly see future visits involving trips to various Welsh tourist attractions 😁

I took the girl to see the musical we originally booked for her 16th birthday (the one we wee actually in the west end for when it shut back in March 2020) last night. Went to see the tour in a local city, we had seen it before in 2019, but it was lovely to see it again, such a fun production. I am shattered today though, I have done so little night time motorway driving over the past 18 months! Added onto driving to Wales and my knees are sore!

Already feeling the pinch this month one day in 😂 have booked crazy golf as I have a half day tomorrow and the smallest requested it. He is back to school on Friday, the wierd one on Monday, the boy Tuesday and the girl Wednesday 😱😂 still waiting for the boy to start his job, so have had to pay his allowance this month. I think he needs an online induction. I remember it seeming ages from job offer to start with the girl too. I also think he got the job offer extra quick because she already works there.

Haircuts booked for tomorrow and the smallest is back to cubs. I need to arrange a haircut for the boy, but he has grown it and I think he needs a proper haircut rather than the town barbers and my hairdresser has no space at all. I used a mobile hairdresser she recommended when she was in Australia for six weeks at the beginning of 2020 so have looked her number out to ring to see if she can do it. More expensive than the barbers though!

Away this weekend on a guiders training weekend. Really looking forward to it, been years since I did an entire weekend one (pre kids) and the place we are staying is fabulous.

  • Two small children shorn, smallest went back to cubs this evening and is back to school tomorrow.

Time to get back to a bit more normality. I am half looking forward to it half not. The structure helps, but I always feel rushed.

Went and did adventure Golf today as requested by the smallest as I had a half day. Even the girl joined in, she drove to the golf course and ended her driving lesson there. I had to admire her reverse bay parking 😂 we need to attempt to get her test booked in, nothing available before March so will be a while. She said she went on the motorway today too, apparently the rules changed to allow this a few years ago 😱 our town is slap bang in the middle of two motorway junctions (our house is about three minutes from one!) Which have nice long slip roads, Better ones than a lot of the ones on our actual ring road system.

Anyway, I am slightly over budget atm, still riding a bit of a cc float, I messaged the handyman to come and price up painting the stairwell, I just can't do it, will get the ceiling done at the same time. I need to contact a plasterer too to fix the wall where the internal window was going to go. I have a couple of names just need to do it. My procrastination has reached ridiculous levels right now

  • Well done to your DD for passing her theory test. I had no idea about the motorway rule but since we are about 50 miles at least from  our nearest motorway, I can’t see DD3 getting on one anytime soon 🙂.

    Your trips sound fun🙂.

  • Still procrastinating. But I have a WFH day tomorrow and we are not really that busy so will take the opportunity to work through some life admin between raising invoices.

Had a lovely weekend on a guiders training. But the most memory thing was finding not one, but TWO ynab users 😂😂😂 proper fangirled about it and was so nice to talk to people who just get it 😂 also being told I didn't look my age was nice.(although they were probably being kind)

Anyway need to go and split up the fighting cats, the yowling is loud!
