With DS can you give him a list of questions to take - or be on speaker phone?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I called and cancelled. Apparently I was the second one this morning! If it had been just a normal follow up appointment I would have sent him. With it being about surgery, he is already nervous about I want to be with him.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1

I was going to ask if they'd do a telephone or zoom appointment. Ah well. hopefully a new one will come through shortly1

Well we.got a letter sent, must have done it straight away. No new appointment, now on a waiting list 🤦♀️ so annoyed, this issue has been ongoing since he was 13, he turns 17 in two weeks! It's non urgent, but just keeps dragging on. He could have started treatment already.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1

Back to work today. Well sort of, nearly all my clients have cancelled as they have covid 🤦♀️ going to be so poor.
I have sorted the budget out for the next six months. It really fluctuates as I am saving towards tax bills which end in Jan, bulk buying Driving lessons at £296 a month th for 5 months, paying towards a school residential and mortgage increase in Nov. So some of these things end and some start. Luckily my tax bill for 22/23 will be back to the normal £300 or so rather than the £800 it was for 21/22. Also having to factor in giving the girl money towards uni in September. Xmas this year is going to be a frugal one after a couple of good years.
We will be fine, but our Scotland trio may push us into carrying a bit of debt on a credit card. Everything is booked (mostly paid from my Xmas and birthday money) but with the increase in petrol prices I am definitely going to be short on spends. I have bt offers if the worst happens, and it would only be a few hundred.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
It must be difficult when factors outside your control take away income like that.
Expensive on the driving lessons too. We gave DD a set amount and then said she was on her own after that. She was lucky and got extra funding as part of her apprenticeship for driving.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Learning to drive is something I will fund. Hubby has never passed and it is so frustrating to be the only driver in the house. Hopefully he learns quickly.
Just remembered that I should have another source of income in September. Around £80 a month, so nothing huge, but will ease the pressure a bit.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
I do agree it's an essential life skill.
