It doesn't seem fair on the CB front.

Well hubby's tax return has been completed so at least now we know what we owe. It will be tight, but we should be ok.

The girl got her letter from student finance so we also know what we need to find for her next year.

All the accounts are looking somewhat empty atm, it's going to be a quiet summer.

The girl got her accommodation for uni through. She went into London with her friend who also got into the same uni to have a look at the different areas. However she is still on crisis over it all and add on her three A level exams it is hard going right now.

Dropped the smallest to cub camp today, totally unprepared.assuked they would be in the building, but, no are in tents. So he doesn't have a roll mat, or cutlery etc, or long PJ's. Told him to put a blanket underneath his sleeping bag (I always slept direct on a groundsheet as a guide and coped) wear his tracksuit in bed and I am sure they will have spare plates etc. But with how he is I am expecting a call later to pick him up. I feel awful for not checking. Just so much life admin going on right now. Add in middle age brain fog and there is no hope.

Finances are trashed. Mortgage advisor has contacted us as our fixed rate is up in Nov, so need to find time to speak to them. We can see the deals from our current lender from next month so will see what the MA can recommend for us and compare. Hubby has had a payrise since we bought, but I have dropped 6k, and am back fully self employed so who knows. We may end up having to stay with our lender. And the payment will definitely increase. Frustrating. Will try and fix for 5yra if we can this time.

Pleased to hear your daughter got her accommodation sorted, another thing ticked off the list & hope your son enjoys cub camp. Am sure they will have some emergency supplies. Fingers crossed for no calls.

Well the smallest stayed the weekend and had a blast. So glad he had fun, it's always a worry with him!

The girl is doing my head in. 10 more days and she is done with exams, and then the wait for results. She is still really worried about her uni choice, we all just wished she hadn't got in. She much preferred the smaller one, but it feels foolhardy to turn down the opportunity to go to the best.

Have been trying to reign in my food budget with a bit of success. It is very generous as I prioritise it, but right now we need to make some savings.

Well done on the food budget savings. It is still a big area of weakness for me

So kids week tickets went on sale this morning. I did go and have a look, bit with the girl being to old now o am limited a bit with what we could book. I have already booked a show for August for the younger two through a previous offer, but with money being so tight and a trip to Scotland I am limited with both funds and time.

So went and booked a show I have been wanting to see for ages. Booked restricted seats in the second row for a bargain £20! Supposed to be a brilliant view not missing much at all.

The other show we really want to see we will look at rush tickets on the day I think.

Another show booked for August. May do one more, but money is going to be very tight so won't go crazy.

Have a concert in London on Friday. Right now it looks like we will have to miss the end to ensure we will actually get the last train home. Which is two hours earlier than normal, due to it being a Sunday service running. Add in tube strikes on the jubilee and central line we may end up sleeping at Waterloo Station! I booked these tickets in September 2019 and didn't bother with booking a hotel as it would normally be fine. Train strikes on top of two years of postponing really makes me wonder if the universe doesn't want me to go 🤔

The girl has won an award for her art. She also has a peice being hung in our local railway station. Am so proud. She also seems a little more settled on her uni choice, will see how she goes. She also finished her exams today so fingers crossed she relaxes a bit more now. Its been quite stressful around here!

Hubby has pulled his back and basically can't lie down so is sleep deprived and grumpy. But won't ring the doctor, or see a chiropractor or take much pain medication 🙄 my sympathy is limited.

Have managed to cut back on the food shopping a bit and been making the petrol last so we are coasting to payday looking generally OK right now. Just nothing set aside for summer holidays......
