Scotland trip sounds fab.
Summer hols is always a bottomless pit with kidsbut I love the time with them and try not to worry. Like you, I then 'start again' in September... it's almost like a mini New Years Day for financial resolutions

I have been absent!
Family wedding was lovely, caught your with the wider family who I haven't seen for a few years, the smallest had a ball, hit the dancefloor at about 7.30 and finally collapsed into bed at 11!!! The whole party was brilliant, really suited my cousin and her new husband. Costs were covered, but it means I am low in the petrol fund for the rest of this month.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
I will write a longer post about our trip and the financial situation (not good!) Later this week. I just wanted to share this glorious picture of one of my favourite places. The smallest just adores the beach, he cannot resist the sea.

So we are back to baking in the heat, this week has been awful, doing extra hours to cover other people's holidays and to make up money lost from last month.
Finances are awful. The girl heading to uni isn't helping. Mortgage going up in December. Budget ridiculously tight. Have a credit card bill which I should be able to pay off in a few months, but there is nothing spare at all and the house needs some work. Hubby moaning as he hasn't had a proper holiday.
Week away was lovely (did point out he could have come) weather was kind for Scotland, and the smallest behaved amazingly, he coped so well, much better than four years ago.
Just feel like I am treading wster right now, guilt I am not bringing in more money, but hindered by school runs and the smallest needing an advocate due to his additional needs. It all feels very overwhelming right now. I can feel myself thinking sod it, spend, spend, spend. Desperately trying to hold back.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉2 -
We're here for you and got your back. I know you'll have gone through your budgets, is there anything else that can be trimmed? Ebay, anything to sell?

Sorry things are tough for you. I know what it's like to have to advocate for your kids and it can be exhausting.
Hope things improve soon. DD will potentially need to earn some £ herself while away too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Good Morning @Drawingaline. Hope your having a good weekend so far.
The beach in Scotland looked serene, I love the sea and beaches for their natural beauty. Am not one to sunbath though.
I am def starting to get my head out of the sand and start to process the cost of living crisis in my own home too. I'm the one who gets in a stress, my partner is more laid back but can have a tendency to overspend & he's a gamer so eek not a good combination.
Have you found any little hints or tips which you'd recommend? Even small things. The one thing I am thinking of trying is buying some frozen veg. My kids and partner are not the greatest with veg but I love a good veg soup which is pretty cheap. So think i'll add one or two frozen veg bags to my shop to make at home for work lunches.2025 financial goals & challenges!
