yes i lightly grease the cake tin, put a tablespoon of flour in then "shake" it over the sink so that the whole tin gets coated in flour ....not sure why it works, but it does for me!1 hope you have some luck x0
-
I butter & flour my cake tins as well, my mum and nan used to do the same. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

Well I tried out the piemaker today
Its F.A.B :j
Works a lot like my snackmaker actually just a different shape.Very easy to use I did cherry tarts with ready made puff pastry *dribble* and seeing how I never got a chance to take a pic they must have been ok!!!
I'm doing some more tomorrow so will post pics as the boys are back at school so they'll survive til they get home this time...
I'd say f you are used to using a toasted sandwich maker you'll be ok using one of these :T0 -
:rotfl: i can just imagine you! :rotfl:
let me know how you get on... I haven't a car today so I can't nip over to TJH!!!
right folks....
1. I have got my baking head on (ds1 did a bought mixargh! I'll never recover from the shame
:rotfl: ) and made a basic sponge with chocolate topping... however.. I am having problems with the sponge coming out of the tin without sticking (this happened last night with the VS we had for pud) - the tin is greased well so... how would you stop this happening? I can't be bothered to faff with lining the tin....
2. we now get approx 21 eggs a week now from our 3 chickens... they are yummy! if anyone has any great egg recipes then please pass them my way!
If it helps any I bought reusable teflon baking sheets and they only cost me £1 each and I cut one of them for each of my baking tins.Cost me a little bit to begin with but I just grease the tin and plonk them in the bottom now and my cakes never stick any more.Miles cheaper than replacing the tins
As for the eggs how about scotch eggs or pork and egg pie which are perfect now that the weather is getting warmer alledgedly:p

I love my pieces of teflon, especially the one that fits my round 9" cake tin. It's got little fringy bits cut round the edge so it fits well. It's such low hassle making a cake now.... not sure that's a good thing LOL!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Well folks its been a really busy time for us..:D
We have *fingers crossed* finally got the go ahead for specialist schooling for DS3 :j The papers are at the 3 suitable schools for their perusal just gotta wait a couple of weeks for the answers if they have a free space or not.
Most surprising news was DS2...We always knew he'd be having the op on his back but just presumed it would be the one major jobby then he's done... (best laid plans...)
He's now got to have a temporary set of rods put in which will be lengthened as he grows, rather like a trombone  this is good news as it will stop his curvy bits progressing more, but we have to go a fair way to the special hospital each time and stay for a few days each time..which will create chaos for DS3 seeing as it'll be 3 or 4 ops a year!!
Then when he finally stops growing he'll have the big op...
So thats the 'family bit' done
Well the garden is going mad!! I invested in a new walkin greenhouse ala Wilkinsonsfor £29.99 and its marvellous!!
I've got seedlings coming out of my ears and its going to increase our food production considerably this year, which seeing as prices are spiralling is no bad thing...
I still have a few leeks left to harvest along with corn salad and spinach and the first lettuce trimmings will be in another couple of weeks.
The trees and fruit bushes are heaving with blossom I get the feeling we'll be getting bumper crops if the weather stays like this.
I'll post some pics tomorrow along with some new ones of the storecupboards whcih are heaving beyond belief at present!!
I have been slowly regaining my stocks due to the volatility of the prices at the moment..I really could not fit another piece of food in this house if I tried lol...Mr T sent a driver and a helper this week...I wonder if he was trying to tell me something!
My monthly shop came in at around £140 which considering the vast amount I bought was really good.
I have noticed a lot of stuff being discontinued then suddenly reappearing in a smaller amount for a lot more money!
I've tried to take advantage of this as best I can to up our stores and so far have been very lucky in second guessing them...
I need to get a few more bottles of oil and some preserving sugar for my jams then I'll be happy
On the agenda for tomorrow is pie making, emptying the 'ripe' compost bin and dressing the raised beds, and a spot of cleaning
Will also try to catch up on everyones news on OS which may take a while!!!0 -

Welcome back d&dd not been the same without you!
My fave pie fillings are beef and guinness with mushrooms and also bacon leek and stilton...yum
We all have been feeling the pinch a bit with grocerys but there are still bargains to be had
Mr A's have dessicated coconut for 5p near us so i bought 20 also 18 free range eggs for £2
Pasta-3kg bags have shot up but the 500g smarty price was 19p still
no yeast at our mr A's at all this week and 75p for bread flour usually about 50p i think
I did a bit of an experiment this week i shopped in Mr A's instore i normally online shop at mr t's
I think i spent more and got less but unsure how much was due to prices
rising.I did however get to use £8 of coupons
My husband finally agrees stockpiling is good maybe i will get those shelves built after all

I need to clear out a cupboard, seem to have gained three boxes of food that simply won't fit in the normal food cupboard - might have to bite the bullet and totally dejunk under the stairs - eek! My stocks of tinned toms and beens seem quite low, and I'm sure someone mentioned loo roll was on offer in Somerfield - got to go to little town today and there's one there, so will need the space! Where does everyone else keep all their stockpiled stuff?GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000
