D&DD - you made me laugh about the cat eating the doughnut - I have to ban the boys from putting bun cases anywhere except in the kitchen bin as the dog roots them out and shreds them over the floor - one of his few bad habits so we forgive him.....
Jamiedodger - I have just been doing some baking for the little girl next door who is cf/ wheat free (not gf) - ds1 and I are cows milk/ lactose intolerant - can tolerate lactofree milk (thank goodness) and sheeps milk cheese in small quantities. Can your children tolerate oats or not? I might have some other recipes.
Sammi - may well make the salami braid tomorrow in mini form

thriftmonster our dog eats the cake wrappers so at least he doesn't make a mess with it, I keep telling the kids his poop will come out wrapped up as he eats wrappers of anything, labrador in him I think! Kids call him the 'walking trashcan' (DS1 as usual in American mode and DS2 picks it up)
Jamie hope your little one is better soon, not on your own in here, I've spotted many Mam's like myself who have little ones on the spectrum, never give up with the non verbal, my DS1 used to be, his speech is great now but social language is still pretty useless but at least he can talk now, DS2 is getting there eventually, his speech still needs some improvement but baby steps just like flylady. I heard a friends son say 'hi' a few weeks ago and it was the first time I have heard him speak, I nearly cried, he is 16.
Kate, there are many as you have probably read who have similar hording issues, usually who have faced hard times in the past, do expect those 'cold turkey' type feelings when running stocks lower, it's weird, sometimes unpleasant panic feelings but you can do it
I wonder if it's worth asking on freecycle about donut makers? One of those things many people buy like popcorn makers and never use.
Went to the shop today, bought rolls (until I find somewhere successful to rise them I will just buy them) ham, cheese and juice for DS1, have bought a cheaper high juice to try him with instead of ribena, got 2 big jars of coffee as it was on offer and in total came to £18.45..not bad. Milk money was due today which DP paid from his jar so that was another £5.60. Need to definately make cut backs this moth and use up what we have as much as possible after nearly £400 in extra bills coming in.One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Freecyle could be a good idea because I saw one in my region only a few weeks ago being offered. I'm kicking myself now.

I was jsut going to say if your boys are majorly into dairy liek my little boy is (before we found out he was lactose intolerant) then there is the lactofree milk which is still made from cows milk, and tastes ok, its jsut got all the sugar in the milk killed off and filtered out if you get me. Its pretty good and my 3 year odl doesnt seem to notice any difference and he lived on yoghurts, cheese and milk pretty much
Also my nephew has ADHD, Aspergers and Autism all together although i think he slightly lower on the aspergers than the autism but quite high in the ADHD one if that makes any sense. So i can understand how hard it is for you all. My mother in law is now his main carer as his actual parents couldnt cope with his mood swings (they have two yougner children) and hes 10 and hes never had a problem speech wise. Food wise he is also quite 'picky' adn doesnt tend to eat anything other than chicken dippers, pancakes, digestive biscuits and porridge and those lunchables things.Time to find me again0 -
Lactofree is excellent - especially in a cup of tea where none of the others works for me! (i'm drinking one ATM)However it is only advertised as lactose free, I'm not sure if it's casein free. Maybe someone else knows.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

sammy and thriftmonster,
thanks for that, but unless someone else corrects me, the casein is still in cows, and to a lesser exent goats milk too, its not the lactose mine are intolerant of.
rice/soya etc milk is fine for mine though. as none of my boys is on a soya free diet.
ds1 is very picky eater and ds3 even more so, ds2 will eat anything...he even tried my swiss chard quiche yesterday and the verdict was....lush (apparently lol)
D&DD.... do you use the panny (i have one too:)) for making the gf rolls? they would be fab in boys lunchboxes as ds3 wont eat bread, but will eat rolls...go figure lol
i have a list of things i want to try today but im not sure how much i will get done as dd is off nursery after being sick last night.
def trying those brownies where did you get your gf cocoa powder?
better go....she is yelling me as Hi-5 has finished lolNovember NSD's - 70 -

:hello: Hi Jamie! Yes I use the panny (I am in love with a machine...:rotfl: )
I do the Juvela harvest mix bread in it and its lovely!! I found the Dr schars is best for rolls and can be handled like normal dough but I have a few recipes up my sleeve which can be made from ingredients rather than a mix will dig them out and post up laterThe dough for the rolls usually comes up like a cross between slop/semolina and wall paper paste but it works
re the cocoa powder as long as it is pure cocoa its ok(tesco's is usually ok and cheap) I'm currently using up some carob powder I bought knocked down in the health food shop!
Hows DD this morning?? Did you both get any sleep??
lil_me if we had a pound for everything we were told our kids would never do we'd probably both be rich!! DS3 can sightread now (just can't do phonics) and can vaguely write although he types well (zombie typing game lol..don't ask!)0 -
thanks:)
i was wondering if i could just swap the normal bread flour for the doves farm stuff, i never use milk powder when making bread anyway, which would just leave the butter which i could swap for olive oil like i usually do, worth a try i guess.....
i didnt get a huge amount of sleep last night:( going to give her a nice bath in a mo....
good news though,
ds3 clay bath stuff arrived this morning:) so will be working out dosages and trying him this evening,
also ds1 meds from states came too, i have tula temper, mind sooth and focus so will have to figure out dosages for that too, am going to pop to boots when i get 5 mins....for the eyeq stuff. does it come flavoured?
i have ordered for the first time a riverford meat box (to go with my fruit and veg) delivery will come next weds with my normal order:) i thought i would give it a go....
