Hello all. I have a week off work so tomorrow I am going to lick the house into shape and get tea going early. Then DH can do some plastering when he gets home from work. I want to get my lounge finished by the end of the month- I very much doubt it will happen but it's nice to have a goal in sight isn't it?

I realised something tonight - on our personal profiles we have the option of choosing how many posts to display per page. I chose the biggest number - show 40 posts per page, the default is 10 I think) and that's why when people were directing me to a particular post on page # I could never find it!! ;)
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

This sounds rather nice and I've got a thing about hickory smoked anything at the moment :rotfl: so I'm going to try it out tomorrow. Will post the verdict tomorrow evening!

    1 2 1/2 lb brisket of beef
    1 cup hickory smoke sauce
    1 tablespoon horseradish sauce
    1 teaspoon made english mustard
    1/4 tspn salt
    1/4 tspoon pepper

Brown off brisket in pan then place in slowcooker and pour combined seasonings over the top.Cook on low for 7-8 hours til tender.

Today we had homemade bagels for breakfast, bit of a faff but came out lovely! I flavoured them with onion salt and pepper then we had bacon, lettuce and philly in them *toasted*

Lunch was a few bits of salad and fruit from the fridge needed using up and dinner was the usual roast chicken :D

Hi guys Im after some meal suggestions please. I have in my cupboard a tin of kidney beans, a tin of chick peas and a tin of cannelini beans, all bought off the reduced counter this week, none of which Ive eaten before. I have little idea what to do with them but just wanted something different to cook with. Tomorrows dinner will be leftovers of roast beef from tonights dinner, so 'beefy' suggestions are most welcome. We eat most things but nothing spicy (DH and I dont like spicy food and it has to be suitable for a 3 year old and 1 year old).

Will have a proper read back as I keep trying and failing to keep up with this thread.

I'm going to try this one out..I don't think I've got the right beans for it all but I'll just make up the amounts with what I have ;)

    Bean Pot Dinner
    2 chopped onions
2 (31-oz) cans vegetarian baked beans
    1 (16-oz. ) can kidney beans
    1 c. ketchup
    1 (16-oz. ) can butter beans
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    3 tbsp. white vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper

Saut! onions. Add, with other ingredients, to slow cooker. Stir together well. Cover and cook on low for 5 - 9 hours. (If cooked on high, cook 3 hours)
Sounds quite nice and you can always serve up with crusty homemade bread for lunch or add some meat (some of your beef if there's any over) for dinner :D

Well dont know about where you are but the weather is absolutely flaming awful so decided to sort out my kitchen cupboards and restore some order. After much fighting and screaming I have tidied them up and even scrubbed them clean. What a good girl I ambiggrin.gif I finally remembered to set my yoghurt maker off last night and I now have six pots of thick creamy yoghurt.Well I say six the youngest two have had one each flavoured with raspberries with their lunch and it all disappeared so I call that a successcool.gifGot some HM Baked Beans chugging away in the oven its a new recipe so I will let you know how it turns out.Fingers crossed cos my kids can be incredibly picky.Well have to go and take out my inner frustration on the bread dough.Dee the hickory smoked beef sounds delish will have to give it a try next time I get some brisket
