Hi guys Im after some meal suggestions please. I have in my cupboard a tin of kidney beans, a tin of chick peas and a tin of cannelini beans, all bought off the reduced counter this week, none of which Ive eaten before. I have little idea what to do with them but just wanted something different to cook with. Tomorrows dinner will be leftovers of roast beef from tonights dinner, so 'beefy' suggestions are most welcome. We eat most things but nothing spicy (DH and I dont like spicy food and it has to be suitable for a 3 year old and 1 year old).
Will have a proper read back as I keep trying and failing to keep up with this thread.
I would have suggested three bean salad which is about the only recipe I know with beans:rolleyes:
Sassamac where did you get your panasonic breadmaker from? does it have fruit and nut dispenser built in?Amazon had the panasonics on offer before Christmas but they didnt have the fruit/nut dispensers and I use mine a lot so cant buy one without it
Well Sunday lunch has been served and we are all stuffed we had Roast Lamb and all the trimmings followed by Apple Crumble and custard.Hubby has staggered off to work protesting that he needs a nap not to drive a bus:rotfl: .Washing up is all done and two of the kids ar playing on the wii and the other two are playing funkeys on the pc.So all is peaceful and harmonious for now.Despite the fact that I am fit to burst I need to move soon and bake some sausage rolls, bread and buns for the packed lunches tomorrow:eek:

I am so pleased. I maid two braids, one with the apple recipe and one with cheese and tomato. I don't think my dough was quite right it seemed a bit greasy but it tasted really nice.
I have also made the bakewell tart recipe and halved it. It had made 8 scrummy diddy ones in my muffin tin. The pastry is the best I have ever made, thank you.
I feel I am going to be putting on weight trying all these great recipes! One braid eated already and half the bakewells.
Thank goodness Tesco and Argos had no doghnut makers in stock today when I went in to check :rotfl:0 -
Hi, Can someone point me in the direction of making braids... everyone seems to be raving about them so I now want to have a go :-) ... I will be doing it by hand, I seem to have better results this way..
Thanks0 -
JHKE I think I read about it first on page 3 of this thread last night. I have made mine by hand today as well.0

bean burgers - fry an onion with some garlic and thyme, add draind beans (I used kidney beans), fry a bit longer then mash/process. Add some dark soy sauce, seasoning lemon juice. then leave in fridge for a while (half and hour - a few hours) and then make into burgers, coat in flour and fry.0

Between this I've been finishing off some decorating as OH is off next week and he can now do his list of jobs no excuses
Found a lovely beef recipe for the slowcooker so will post that later I'm trying it out tomorrow...all this and trying to experiment with the new cooker and keep the washing up to date...oh and I found some fabric to recover my 3 piece suite to help it along for a few more years..so thats another job to look forward to!!
Will be back on later once I've cleared my bed off, its currently under about 6 feet of fabric, rearranging the stores up there too but its looking heaps better than its looked for yearsLook forward to catching up with everyones news

Thanks Bootman, it was on page 3.. now another question - to make the savoury ones.. do I just reduce the amount of sugar in dough or does it stay the same... not sure as not had it before...
thanks again0 -
Funny you should ask that my cheese and tomato one did taste a bit sweet, but I am am too new to this to know if by reducing the sugar you affects the dough.0
