Glad you liked it Jolaaled
I've got a savoury recipe like a ploughmans one I want to try too and anything with cheese I just can't resist!!!
Just got back from another meeting so starting on the LW Pie now seems simple enough..for those who haven't got the recipe down here it is again...DD stylee
1lb mixed veggies I'm using a mixture of carrots, swede, potato, cauli, kale and some spring onions!!
1 teaspoon marmite
1 tablespoon oatmeal
Peel and dice all the veg and cook with enough water to cover for 10 mins..
Put into a pie dish and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
Cover with a pastry crust (or potato) and bake until brown.
I'm going to top mine with potatoes as the boys prefer it like this so will just have it with some peas on the side..Dribbling now...0 -

Afternoon
*sshh you haven't seen me right I'm cleaning...*
Pastry for Jam tarts (makes enough for 30 tarts and a couple of pies)
12 oz plain flour
2 oz icing sugar
1 tsp salt
3 oz lard
3 oz butter
6 tablespoons of really cold water
I do this in the food processor to breadcrumbs then add the water to mix.Chill for 30 mins.
Roll out til around 1/2 cm thick and cut into size for your tins either with a cookie cutter or (knife round top of jam jar is the same size);)
Pr1ck bases with fork and cook at 180c for about 7 mins, add a small teaspoon of jam and bake til golden..
Jam in pics is rhubarb and apricot, and blueberry and blackcurrant (was scrummy)0 -
Thanks for the receipe:j
I haven't got any lard so will buy some when I do my shopping (my fridge & cupboards are bare- unlike yours
)
I'll have a go over the weekend and DS can help me! I'll let you know how we get on.
Thanks again
