    DAY 22

Got up late (oh fed and watered the tribe :j ) and spent most of the day washing and ironing *happy days*...
Had a shimmy round the freezer and its not looking great but have enough in there for a good few meals yet,it's really how long my nerves can hold out for now  Down to 7 toilet rolls which in this house goes nowhere..so will have to get some of those in the week (anyone seen Andrex 12 for 9 anywhere????) I do have a plentiful supply of newspapers but we're not going there just yet :rotfl:
Have parents coming tomorrow with Strawberries so can put these off til tuesday when I'll probably have to get milk and sliced bread too...Cooked up the turkey breast for pack ups tomorrow.

Breakfast today was toast ala OH :D

    Lunch was toasted apple sandwiches

Dinner was a bit of a cockup...:o Planned to have beef but it didn't defrost in time so boys asked for fish fingers and mash (how bad is that for sunday lunch!!) managed to almost cremate said fishfingers but boys still managed to eat them with mash and peas bless 'em
Followed this with an *unburnt* apple and rhubarb pie and custard/ice cream so all was not lost..
Have been helping OH list some stuff on Ebay in between (hence the kitchen near miss...) must get my butt in gear tomorrow and get some more of my fabric listed..the pile seems to be growing

I have a vast library of ones I never use which looked really good at the time!! I think they always cater for grown up gourmet food eaters not children or anyone with a normal taste in food

When you've got time ... (?) ... you could sort out your recipe books and sell them on Amazon Marketplace. I've listed several books this way that I'm not going to use again, and the recipe books were the first to go.

Right, broadband is fixed so I am in, be aware I will be coming in with lists of random ingredients which need using that I need recipes for etc. Managed to make some onion bhajis myself for the first time last week (I have masses of indian spices and some gram flour which needed using!) which were nice so quite impressed with myself for that. Bought myself a biscuit maker thingy so will be looking for biscuit recipes as DS2 is dying to use it.

All I have spent so far this month was 99p on big bag of baking spuds this morning, needed something different for lunches and was all out of them :) were half price which helps.

Determined to make some space, food which is literally at bursting point when it comes to cupboard stuff, freezer I do need to do a meat shop this weekend as the farm I use is further away now, makes sense to buy for the month, next meat shop after that will be Christmas one.
One day I might be more organised...........

i am going to join you shopping from home if that is alright. My money has gone down to smp and worried about how we were going to cope but sat down last night and realised we could eat from home for at least 4 weeks and spend approx £10 on milk and formula in that time. this thread (well this whole site) has really inspired me. i have also managed to get all xmas presents thanks to info on here:T

I've just finished baking your jam tarts and they are absolutley gorgeous :j
Just "sampled" one even tho its just come of the oven!!

Unfortunatley DS and I wasn't able to make them together over the weekend so I've done them as a surprise when he comes home from school, they are going to be a real hit with him and no doubt he will want to help next time.

I would post a piccy but wouldn't have a clue how to do it and they don't look as good as yours :o

    Thanks again

Been a bit hectic today! Braised my beef after it finally defrosted, made a vat of Gardeners Chicken from bits and bobs in the fridge (and ate toooo much of it!),did the rolls for school tomorrow and tried MrsMacawbers bread (:Ttwas lovely!!!)Made some of Thriftladys choccie spread to tempt DS3..lets just say he didn't need much tempting to polish most of it off in one go so I think thats a hit
Made some GF/CF brownies for lunch tomorrow and had to hide them in the cupboard as little fingers are trying to finish them off too :rotfl:
Rumblytum I think I'll do that when I get time (usually the early hours!)as they don't need listing at a certain time like with Ebay, thanks for the recommendation!
Lil_me lovely to see you back and safely installed in the new place.Hows it going so far?? How many bags of flour did you find when moving????I love Indian food so will be looking to you for inspiration! You know I really need one of those biscuit maker thingies..I keep resisting but its another thing on my xmas list which seems to be growing mainly due to this site!!!(Got to have those french bread tins tho..)
Lolly you are more than welcome to join us 'hoarders'! Look forward to seeing what we can create with our stores..I've surprised myself this week especially on how far things actually stretch when they need to.

MrsMoneyPenny thankyou!! It helps that I looove cooking ( not so hot on cleaning...) and would happily bake from dusk til dawn! Life kinda gets in the way tho so I have to restrict myself..Been out tonight at a new parents support group so my batteries are recharged for a blitz on the mess tomorrow...

Breakfast today was toast or oatsosimple

Lunch was rolls with turkey breast + lettuce (marmite etc for ds3 + strawberries..)

Dinner was Gardeners Chicken which I admit I ate waaaay too much of with chunks of MRSMACAWBERS bread..

    Hi All,

Its me. Im back on finally - christmas shopping, ben being at school again and life in general has been a bit hectic here lately.

Hey before i get into it notice anyhtign different about my posts?? No.........................my paragraphs are working again! and my colours? woohoo so relieved i can actually make lists now!!

Ok so in the holidays after bens bout of illness i took him to the doctor and was told he had 'toddler diarrhea' and the doctor said if i take away his milk id probably find he got better becuase the lactose int eh milk was making him ill, so i did and sure enough he has gotten better, so my son is lactose intolerant it seems (doctor didnt actually say that but removing lactose form his diet and hes fine, he doesnt seem as bloated either) and so ive now got to remove milk form his diet - hes on lactofree milk (milk with no lactose) and hes liking it, hes liking soya milk shakes and doesnt seem to be bothered by not having chocolate so much, he still gets jelly sweeties etc and he can still have his yoghurts cos they are made form low fat cottage cheese so no lactose in it (how i dont know but there isnt) so he seems happy - like i said he seems to be happier, have more energy, not be so bloated and fidgety in general. So yey!! anyone have any ideas for milk free stuff though?? He has got goats butter and cheese etc too so hes not missing out on anything.

Also anyone know if its possible to get a lactose free advent calender??

Glad things are going well for everyone.

Look forard to catchign up with you soon
    Time to find me again
