Hi Everyone
Today has been a better day!! Very quiet children *bliss* and DS3 has been a great help in the garden and the kitchen :T
DS2 still nowhere near right but no worse than yesterday and managed a bite to eat today so fingers crossed he's on the mend!!
Breakfast today was Bagels (with bacon lettuce and philly),Toast for DS2 and 'the usual' for DS3..you know the drill..
Lunch was cheese and pickle sarnies (HM bread) and toast and Jelly(???) for DS3 :rotfl:
Dinner tonight was Lamb hotpot which was scrummy as its reaaally cold here at the moment so nice and warming and a great onepot meal!
Pudding was supposed to be Jelly and Icecream but DS3 snaffled all the jelly by then so we had a fruit pie out of the freezer.HM with blackberries and apples from the garden0 -
D&DD hope your little DS recovers soon. We've moved now and using up as much as possible, resisting easy takeaways when surrounded with boxes is hard!!! Unfortunately the dailup internet I've been given is working when it likes, have spent £80 on food etc since moving in, trying to put off meat shopping until at least next week, this spending does include a Costco shop stocking up on some things I get there which will last me months. I'll be trying my best & will join you once my broadband works!!!One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
I took some pics will post them tomorrow (it's a bit hard wrestling a pc off the kids at the moment!!).
I pulled a lettuce and picked some red peppers, chillies, spinach and beetroot.Got a couple more strawberries to tide 'Mr' over for now 'til grandparents arrive with more tomorrow..
Need to get a few bits tomorrow  have no ham, cucumber, and the tomato sauce situation is looking dire!!! Have only 1 sliced loaf left in freezer but boys are mainly eating HM bread/rolls at the moment so will hang fire on anymore if I can for now..
Made a couple more Apple Braids today and froze them for next week as we're munching through Carrot cakes and Bread Pudding at the moment :rotfl:
Also made a dozen baps and a loaf..helps having 3 breadmakers lol...
No spend day again today so total spend so far on
DAY 11 £11.56p :j (I should be rich :rotfl: )
Thanks so much for all your good wishes for DS
Kethry he's got to get better soon I NEED that Onion Marmalade!!
JCR those cakes are brill aren't they,DS3 thinks they're magic cakes so they always go down a treat
Chardonnay yep it's hard to strike a balance sometimes..as my boys don't really get out to socialise their friends have always come here instead, had 2 on today again but only for a couple of hours (after breakfast and before lunch!)
MrsDave great name..I'm one of them too lol..glad you're enjoying the thread I'm trying to think of cunning ways to use up a mountain of pasta at the moment so will have some more recipes up tomorrow all being well!0 -
:j Hi lil_me Hope your move went well!! I bet you're exhausted! Lol how did you manage to spend that much on shopping
Was it 'necessary's or more *ahem* stock??
Looking forward to you joining me I still have a flour mountain to get through :rotfl:0 -
Necessary, well sort of (we won't mention the takeaway on Sunday when we moved in as I couldn't get to the freezer/cooker)- my lot go through cheese quicker than any other people I know, especially DP, so well worth the savings bulk buying when I am there anyway, I have a massive drawer in the FF for cheese and it was EMPTY!!! Fruit nuggets for DS1 work out 1/3 of the price I was paying in Asda/Tesco for them so buy several boxes at a time, he HAS to have them in his packed lunches, buying several boxes means less trips to Costco
. Tomato puree I was out of and use a lot so bought a case as works out cheap. Eggs we were out of. Milk, no milkman now until I find one £8 just on milk so far, we use a lot. Also includes massive sacks of dog food which should last a month ish so not too bad really. Only unnecessary ones were pizzas I bought for last night & the bread and rolls I have been buying, I lost the manual for my BM inc amounts recipes, just downloading manual now.
Intend staying under budget this month so hopefully only spend under £20 (need yeast, milk & ham for definate) before next Sunday!!One day I might be more organised...........

 An empty cheese drawer  You have my permission to panic :rotfl: I can't be without cheese either!!
Those Costco places sound really good we have Makro's near here but I can't set foot in the place without frying my card..I usually give my friend a tiny list instead..I get a huge tub of mixed spice for a couple of quid from there, absolute bargain!Never thought to price up the blocks of cheese etc, ours seemed really expensive for a lot of the food stuff..might have to check it out after Christmas.Wonder if ours does flour...:D0 -
Thanks so much for all your good wishes for DS
Kethry he's got to get better soon I NEED that Onion Marmalade!!
Glad DS is on the mend hon.. if its any help, the onion marmalade, once the rings are cut up, requires relatively little work or watching - just salt it, leave for an hour. Once the hour is up, rinse the onion well, then mix the other ingredients (vinegar, seeds and sugar) in a large pan (I used the pressure cooker base). bring it all to the boil, simmer 5 minutes, then add the onion, then just simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours - it only needs a quick glance at it occasionally during that time and the odd stir. Its not like a jam where you have to watch it like a hawk or end up with toffeejam!!
*hugggggggggggssssssssssss*
