    Hi,

jcr16 - Do you think the Beef n Bean pie is something that I could freeze...

    Thanks
  • jcr16 - what a stroke of luck seeing your recipe for beef n bean pie. It's almost identical to one that a ripped out of a mag years ago, with the exception that that one was covered in mash.
I lost the recipe a few months ago and was bereft. The kids loved it. Shall have it back on the menu again now. :D

jkhe - I used to freeze mine when I used to make it, although mine had a mash topping. The mince mix def freezes well.

D&DD thanks for the recipie - I have lots of left over turkey that I will use up in this. Just one quick question when you use the paste in the curry do you add any liquid to it to make the curry sauce eg cocount milk, water etc or do you just use the paste and the chicken/Turkey??

Have decided to do an inventory of my freezers (both are crammed full now after Xmas and new year left overs lol) and also my cupboards and then menu plan for January to use some stuff up and also to minimise expense.

Have some cakes and biscuits to use up as well but will be canny with those as have a few excess lb's to lose and then I will start home baking in bulk - my little one will love the rainbow cakes lol.

JHKE ~ i haven't frozen it, as i've only made it once.

but i just got the easy cook back out and it say's.

You can freeze , but u put it in the grill/oven. Thaw it first and then reheat in the oven at fan 170c/conventional 190c or gas 5 for about 40 min's.

    hope this helps.

Yeah its fine to freeze double amanda. I always do. Single separates, tho.
Having said that, I've read posts on the OS board that swear they've done it, didn't work for me.

does anyone have any good ideas on something i can do with a whole melon except just cutting it up for the kids to eat?

I've just chopped up all my veggies that look like they are almost at the end of their life and am just waiting for the chicken bones to boil up so i can make a yummy soup for the DH and kiddies! It's just a mish mash of veggies, chicken stock and tatties - always goes down a treat. This time I;m just using loads of other veggies for a change.

Any ideas for the melon would be so muchly appreciated! Thanks!
