    :rotfl: sorry Yategirl :o

I got my waffle maker from a carboot still boxed for £1... *last of the big spenders*(yes I have one of these too..but its only a little single one makes the round heart edged ones same as the one in Lidl )

I use mine quite a lot but tend to do a batch and freeze them then just pop them in the toaster when I fancy one..or three :D

I made a huge sausage toad for tea tonight can hardly move..methinks I've been overdoing the tasting sessions :o

mummysaver I must have a look round my Tesco's for those tins they sound great for DS3's baking sessions,he loves gadgets as much as me..I've taught him well :D

Jamie bet you've got no strawberries left already..they are gorgeous dried

misery-able sorry I've not been around to answer sooner..glad to see you've managed to get hold of the book it has some really useful info in it with regards to the diet another one to have a read of is Special Diets for Special Kids by Lisa Lewis :D Take things slowly it took us nearly two years to find acceptable substitutes for DS3.. just throw in the odd thing here and there at first as tasters, then gradually keep them in his diet all the time I'm usually around if you need anything answered I'll do my best to help :D

I bought a mini measuring jug from Mr T too, it was 76p. Good if you're making a childs cookery set up, but also good for small measurements instead of squinting to see them in a bigger jug.

Have you all looked on freecycle before you go out and get these things or post a request on there?
I got my breadmaker from freecycle because I didn't want to spend any money on something which could turn into a fad.
Now I've found you lot though I am using it regularly.
The kids are enjoying it as is DH- he even made sultana bread on Saturday because I promised the kids he would!
I'm not going to buy any gadgets or anything until I have managed to sort out my cupboards. I need to have a really good dig out and get rid of all the tubs with no lids etc. It shouldn't take me too long if I do 1 or 2 cupboards per day.
We're going to have to switch to filter coffee too as we are running low on instant and we have loads of filter coffee. I'm sure it's cheaper anyway!
Lovely chicken pie for tea tonight. Had a disaster with the chicken soup- I put it into my blender and it flooded the kitchen- I'd overfilled it. I really do miss my cheap stick one that I used so much it fell apart!
Hope everyone well. Those who need hugs here you are ((((())))).
    TTFN, Kaz.

Kaz I've spraypainted the kitchen too :rotfl: mine was potato and leek soup and stunk of onions for days till I found a bit I'd missed down the side of the cooker :o I put the lid on but forgot to put the thing in the middle you pour stuff through...
Must remember to chck our freecycle more often thanks for reminding me :D

Evening all, not had chance to read through yet, challenge going well, DS2 been off poorly again so haven't left the house to buy anything. Have filled the gaps in the freezer with bread, after all it's more economical to run it fuller than empty (stops me getting as twitchy!) but haven't bought anything. Tonights dinner was meatballs, tomorrow will be pasta in tom & veg sauce with garlic bread. Still suprised that I am managing so far to spend NOTHING at all. Still quite a bit left, ok a lot left, I have to leave the house tomorrow as taking a friend to the dentist but I don't NEED anything so hoping not to spend anything.

Hope you are all well, will try and catch up in a bit.
One day I might be more organised...........

I assume you can make potato waffles in these too? I liked the birds eye waffles but wont buy them on principle; think how much nicer home made ones would be........ I'm watching for recipes too...

I feel a trip to lidl coming on :)

My husband will have a hissy fit if i get another appliance :rotfl: but thinking santa may buy one for me ill just leand him the money first :D i know he is also very busy at this time of the year sooooooo.... in a bid to safe the poor blokes stress levels and the raindeer's energy... will just have to pop to lidl myself :rotfl: :p and that way hubby will be none the wiser lol then i can just get you supermums to give me some sweet and savoury waffle recipies and i can then drip feed the idea of waffles to hubby and then will have forgotten the DONT GET ANYMORE APPLIANCES idea :o:D :rotfl:

    well what a day!
I've literally just sat down and still loads more to do
Dee hope the shoulder is feeling better tomorrow
Yategirl heres the recipe I use for my waffles its pretty much the same as yours but does contain oil

    1 3/4 cups plain flour
    2tsp Baking powder
    1/2tsp salt
    3tbsp sugar
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 cups milk
    7tbsp Oil

Its basically the same as yours beat the egg whites till stiff.Sift dry ingredients into a bowl and add egg yolks, oil and milk beat until lump free.Fold in the egg whites.Put a full 1/2 cup of batter in to make a round
