Sorry I can't do a link just yet Sid, but is this the same phone that John Lewis are selling?
It's Product code - 83330337 @ £19.95?

Those look very good but should you or anyone else need an even simpler phone Help the Aged do one called "Simply 5"
The owner can have five pre-programmed numbers put in which will only need one button to press to connect. The phone will accept all incoming calls.
There are just 5 large buttons and is VERY simple and suited to those who cannot cope with even a basic mobile. (Sorry don't know how to do a link)
Thought this might help some-one0 -
Here's the link from Help the Aged but the phone is quoted as £140!!

another vote for the motorola F3 http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/motofone/experience/experience/index.html
i bought one thru CPW for my semi-elderly mother. it does nothing except make and receive calls and text messages -exactly what she wants!
it has a very long battery life -almost 2 weeks, and is tough and well-made. the display is very good (it's noted for using a new type of technology which makes it easy to read in direct sunlight) and text on the screen is very large.
it also looks pretty good...
£17.95 on virgin thru CPW and an extra £5 off thru quidco.:T
How is the volume level on this phone for both ring levels and speech?0 -
I am looking for a mobile phone for my more mature parents (Dads 71) they currently have a very old nokia that is on its way out.
The only criteria is that it has to have large buttons and the more basic the better.
I have searched the net and there are websites that provide phones specifically for mature people but they are very expensive (£100 plus) for which effectively is a phone that was around ten years ago (large phone with big buttons).
I don't want to pay to much (no more than £40 if I can help it), any suggestions?0 -
You might want to consider getting a voice activated phone? You could dial in the numbers that your parents use most often so they only have to say the name not dial. May I also suggest, you look for one with a loud ring tone."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Have you considered going on ebay to get one???
The nokia 6210 is a good one for that, my Grandma has one of those, and she's 86!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Thanks for the suggestions, I might try the Nokia 6210. I am not sure about the voice activation, I would have to discuss that with Mum and Dad. Ta v much for the ideas.
