Best phone for older generation.
please can anyone help me! I am having great difficulty in finding a mobile phone in which the text is large enough for me to read! I have spoken to lots of my friends who have the same problem. We are all in our 50's and use out mobiles alot but our eyesight not as good as it was. I have been to every phone shop in my area and the Samsung slim slide model has fantastic size numbers but the text is too small. Anyone else got this problem.

Have you tried the Motorola F3, it's a very basic phone with a "Clear Vision" display which makes it easy to read even in bright sunlight. From memory I think the text was a good size, maybe someone can confirm. I found battery life was poor but maybe mine was a one off. Probably best to try one out to see if it's suitable.0

Thanks. Been to phone shop and Motorola F3 out of stock so going back in a few days.0

You could buy the likes of a nokia n73 and install psiloc font magnifier which allows you to adjust the text to very large sizes and only £60

There's a photo of the F3 text size in the above review. Hope it helps.0 -

Please remember when reading back that some of these posts are quite old now and the offers, or indeed phones, may no longer be available but hopefully it will give an idea of what phones are best

You can buy it from this company (part of the CPW) for £7.99 plus £10 air-time on Virgin :-http://www.e2save.com/index.php?&B[0][next][0]=confirm&&PHPSESSID=5ajejnvnj5usc9fedk1dav5b33
In fact it's better than that, because the Virgin SIM also comes with another £5 already on it. If you have an existing Virgin PAYG phone you can transfer the credit from the new phone to your existing number. Also, when I bought one from them, the phone was unlocked, so you can use it on any network.
Delivery is very quick and it's post free. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
another vote for the motorola F3 http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/motofone/experience/experience/index.html
i bought one thru CPW for my semi-elderly mother. it does nothing except make and receive calls and text messages -exactly what she wants!
it has a very long battery life -almost 2 weeks, and is tough and well-made. the display is very good (it's noted for using a new type of technology which makes it easy to read in direct sunlight) and text on the screen is very large.
it also looks pretty good...
£17.95 on virgin thru CPW and an extra £5 off thru quidco.:Talmost glimpsing the light at the end of the debt tunnel...:j0 -
I am looking at buying a mobile phone for my 77 year old Mother in Law and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. She is struggling with the smaller buttons on her current phone and I would like something that was simple to use.0

There's the Emporia Life phone which might be suitable:

The O2 Jet! Huge buttons, 3 week battery life and got no camera and stuff so less to go wrong with the handset!0
