Still here. Still okay.
Still raining. Still drowning in trying to keep on top of drying washing and getting to bed before 2am.
Still shielding. Still not leaving the house other than making use of the garden. Dont really have the words to say all the stuff about this and the mixed messages between government and medical professionals.
But we are well. We have a roof over our head. We are fed and smalls are happy. So very lucky and grateful for that.
Hope youre all safe and well x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”7 -
Glad you're ok. You need to take the advice of the medical professionals as the little one needs shielding that bit more than normal. Her situation is different as will be the case with some others. Yours is not a straightforward shielding case. You're doing the right thing by staying away from things as long as you possibly can. Hi WB
Good to read that you are all well and happy. We've had a letter from DS's school informing us everybody is expected back in when the new term starts and in full regulation uniform. It's chaos normally in the uniform shop so no idea what it'll be like with the restrictions in place.
If I didn't think he'd grow I'd start buying now but I'm not prepared to take the risk. They did say that they realised it could be hard for some families so any donations of outgrown but decent uniform would be very much appreciated. When will you start buying DS's long list of stuff and does his new school have something in place for families who might be struggling?
I think the weather forecast for this week is good so hopefully the washing will be easier to dry for you.... and mexx

I'm going to start on the 25th of this month tea. I only have the 25th July and the 25th August to get it all sorted. Its overwhelming whats needed.
The school dont do anything like that. I'm just going to buy one set of uniform for them. But then I'm worried how I'll get it dry before the next morning with no dryer as its reaching autumn/winter.
I will recieve £55 towards DS's uniform in August. It will cover the blazer. So thats a help.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”5 -
Make sure you buy a blazer that's too big for him, he won't be the only one turning up wearing one that's obviously got to last for a couple of years
Is that the most expensive thing on your list? Our school is very strict with how they look but not about where the uniform is bought. The only logo DS needs to wear is on his blazer, summer polo shirts and rugby shirt. We can buy shirts, trousers, PE kit, bags, coats etc wherever we want, although the uniform shop is pretty comparable in price to supermarkets. I bet you can't believe he'll be in High School in a few weeks can you. xx
