I am sure the nurses would have mentioned this if it's available on prescription, but could you get kylies (disposable or washable) for DD?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Our half term isn't until next week so DS has been in school while all the horrid weather has been happening, not that it looks much better for next week. We've nothing planned either. I think he's just ready for a break and happy he's not got to get up as early and go out in the cold. We don't have a dryer so I never thought about that lol. I remember falling at my Nanna's house when I was little and her having to hand wash my skirt which was then put in a towel and my Mum and her took ends and turned them in opposite directions to squeeze as much water out as possible. Blimey, no idea where that memory was dredged up from! Glad DD enjoyed her birthday. xx5

Youngest does have nappies cherry if that's what you mean? She's given 2.5 a day and I buy extra.
Tea when's the van season start for you? Bet you can't wait (providing the weather improves)
Thank you beanie. I have an appointment in town tomorrow so going to call in the SA and where the local welfare team is. I feel a bit stuck as I used the local charity for a tumble form and things. It's cheaper to get repaired than a new one. It's £120 for a new part and it to be fitted so I'll have to do this if it comes to it.
Everyone is in bed and I'm just getting things ready for tomorrow. Will need to take a taxi to my appointment but it has to be done.

Morning WB
Van season starts first weekend in March so not long to go now. Might hang on a bit though, it's flipping freezing here today! Aren't you allowed to use the local charity again if you're already used it, or is just you feeling odd about it. There's also the Mustard Tree and the the warehouse where you live that I'm sure you know about that seem to sell new/reconditioned ones for the same price you're going to pay for a part, depending if they've any in I suppose. Anyway, I hope you get it sorted, it's definitely hard to live without one especially with 3 children. Hope your appointment goes well today. xx

Also, as she has nappies, has she grown enough to be reassessed for the size of them if the current ones aren't adequate?

I hope you can get something sorted out washing machine wise. My washer has broken down a fair few times lately and although I've got it insured I've had to hand wash or go to the launderette while waiting for a repair so I know what a pain it is. There are some very good suggestions posted above all worth a try.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Oh not long then tea. Its awful. It's still rain/hail! It's never ending. I found a reconditioned one at the local welfare place for £110 delivered and they remove the old one. It also has 12 months warranty so I think that's a better idea!
Thank you cherry I haven't seen those. I have called about the nappies and waiting a call back as I'm sure she should get more than we are now she's back in them nearly full time.
Thank you SA
Appointment went okay. Back on the 3rd to see the consultant.

I'm so glad you found something. I think a washing machine is the one thing I really couldn't do without. I remember my Granny washing everything (and I mean everything. Bedding, blankets, Grandad's overalls, etc) in her big double sink and wringing them out with a hand wringer. I don't know how she managed.
Hope you are all ok and not suffering too much in this awful weather. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.4 -
No, not long to go at all. After Christmas it seems to come round quickly. Feel really relieved for you that you've found a washing machine! As Toni said I think I could work my way around most things but not having a washer isn't one of them.
Could you also ask the nappy people about the sheet Cherry has suggested? xx4
