  • Sorry greenbee I should have said the person who I've offended (I don't know who it's a new user with no posts and created last nigjt) messaged to say it's a kick in the teeth I'm taking a loan to spend on luxuries like carpets and sending a child on holiday.

I haven't got a loan and I just wanted to make sure I hadn't come across as this is what I wanted one for.

As soon as I'm home I'll reply to the posts from yesterday I just wanted to clear up any confusion x

I wouldn't take any notice hun and block them. It looks like there was a few trolls on the boards last night.

If you feel the need to get a loan, then by all means to do.

Hi WB :) Sometimes things get lost in translation but I've always found you quite open to explaining something so can't understand why they didn't just ask you to clarify what you'd posted - not that it's anything to do with us anyway. Kick in the teeth is odd terminology, something I'd use if I was talking about somebody I 'knew'.

The holiday thing very quickly became about what a silly prize it was rather than a financial discussion and you even said about school being happy for you to pay over a longer period of time.

Easier said than done I know but don't let it get to you. Carry on and enjoy whatever it is you're doing today. xx

I bet it was the one liner you put about applying for the loan to clear things and then mentioned the carpets and holiday deposit, but you followed it up with "I know I'm being ridiculous".

These diaries are great for bouncing ideas and thoughts around and also getting other people's thoughts on things. What we write definitely isn't written in stone though and shouldn't be taken as such. xx

Wannabe - you know what you’re doing with your children and are doing your very best with the odds against you to sort the finances out. Just try and ignore comments that might upset you. Let them ride over you- which is a lot easier said than done. I can fully understand why you applied for the loan - something to take the pressure off everyday living when you have so much going on from every direction.
Hope the smalls are enjoying the build up to Christmas- not many sleeps now until the man in the red suit comes.

Thank you I do appreciate it.

Why I'm having a coffee I thought I'd come back to explain some more.

Do I regret applying for the loan? No not at all. I'm actually upset it didn't get approved. I'm worried. I don't know how we are going to get through the next few months. The bills for next month go out next week when the months money comes in. This will leave £100 for the full month for everything. This isn't enough. I would make it work if we weren't going to the hospital 4 days a week. It will come to the choice of falling behind on a bill or not attending. I don't want to post these ins and outs of failing every time I post about doing something. I don't want to be judged that I bought the smalls an Xmas gift when I'm in this position - We have received support this month again which has got us through to where we are today. I can't expect to rely on that every week. I can't attend a food bank every 3 days for basics. I can't choose to miss things because I don't know when I'll catch back up. The loan would have given some breathing space. It would have made the budget a lot more manageable even if it meant being in 'debt' longer. I'd rather be in debt longer and not having to choose between food or rent or hospital appointments or other basic things. I don't want luxuries. Would I like a carpet? Yes of course I'm sure most would. I don't enjoy sitting counting the slices of bread - getting upset when the smalls help themselves to an extra sandwich or something and then worrying how I'll make that back. Just the same as I don't (as I'm sure most others who post here don't) post every single detail. It's embarrassing. It isn't needed here either I guess.

Anyway I think I'll just leave the loan saga there. I didn't get one. I can't get one and I being honest I have enough going on without trying to explain myself. I'm exhausted and probably already over share too much.
