Strangely enough, the rain stopped just short of home, Wannabe, and we haven't had it yet. I don't expect there was much left to fall, after all that.

Out of interest I googled how to clean up polystyrene balls and you aren't the first with the problem though yours isn't indoors or on a beach. It mentioned that if you use a vacuum cleaner you should use an anti-static spray then put tights (or similar) over the end of the vacuum, presumably because they won't do the machine any good. Alternatively use a dustpan and brush or cardboard and try brushing them when they're wet. You can use sticky tape, a lint roller or the static on a balloon to pick them up too! It might be worth ringing the Council but I suspect you will end up sweeping up what you can, over and over again. Like the rain, they can't last forever. Must be such a pain though.

Evening. Finally sat down with a cuppa.

It's been dry today :j as soon as I woke up this morning and saw no rain I was like quick come on let's go :rotfl:

Been a bit spendy. Nothing not on the list was spent on though..

    Bus fare for smalls £7.50
Mr A uniform £44 (trousers for DS, polo shirts for all 3, swim kit for older two, pumps for youngest and tights)
Uniform shop £28.96 (DS pe kit and jumper and pe trousers for DD)
Sainsbugs £22.50 (school shoes for DD and DS)
Sported!rect £13 (black trainers for DS)

Got a free coffee and I took packed lunches for the smalls which I took them into the museum to eat. While in the museum we did the aquarium and Egypt parts as they asked (and I never say no to free entertainment ;))

Got the bus back home just in time for dinner (freezer homemade readymeals of their choosing) quick dunk in the bath and now they're in bed.

Tomorrow I have my crisis appointment and need to go to the pawn shop. Everything is done for back to school although I really wanted some mini black hair plastics from Primark and they had none :( so will look next time I'm near one. They are the best quality I've found and only £1.

Next on the list is to find some cheap stuff for DS for his residential which I plan on looking in the SA

Hope you've all had a lovely day

    We have :)

Hi WB :) As long as you've got a roof over your head I wouldn't worry about how you think the area looks. Polystyrene balls everywhere would be enough to drive anybody mad regardless of where they live. :o

Sounds like a fun and productive day and what a good idea to take packed lunches with you :T I love the Egyptian bit of any museum as well.

Hope you get what you need from the appointment tomorrow. xx

    Morning

    Thank you :)

Up nd out. The rain is horrid!!

Spends already. £7.50 on bus fare for the smalls. £44.50 to council tax. Just waiting for my appointment and then need to get on the bus to the other local town to go to the pawn shop.

Have the list ready for DS residential things and double checked it. Will keep an eye in the charity shops and if now will probably go to Primark at the end of the month.

Hope you all have a good day despite the weather!

Hi WB :) Hope the appointment went well and you've got some extra support in place.

Good idea to try and get things from CS for DS. Stuff doesn't exactly get ruined but I wouldn't have sent anything special when mine went. :o xx

  • Hi WB,

Have brought DS1’s old age 10 plus clothes down from the loft, ready for DS2. I have far too much stuff. Let me know what you need for the residential trip and I’ll send you a parcel Xx
