I wonder if your DC went to the same one as mine Tea - or is there always a piranha pool?
Our primaries gave us a year to pay and I'm stunned that isn't the norm. I'm sure lots of families would struggle to get that much together if there was no warning.
Since the smalls didn't get pupil premium til recently, is there any way that they could refund or divert the offset monies you should have had til now? Do you know any of the governors who you could sound out?
And if it's clothes that are needed, you are talking mostly old stuff and some track suit bottoms/hoody - the centres supply them with wet weather gear and any specialist stuff.

  • DS1’s residential had a piranha pool too. Either it’s a recurring theme, or one place is doing a roaring trade :rotfl: Xx

JJ - I bet it's the same company if there was a piranha pool, they have quite a few dotted around the country. I'm convinced DD and DS still think there were real piranha's in the water when they talk about it :rotfl:

Thinking about it DD needed a sleeping bag but DS didn't. Their first job was to make their beds when they got there. He said it was the worst part of the trip :D But they did take wellies and they needed a good waterproof coat. It's all coming back to me now. Clothing was provided for some activities.

You're right though JJ school went to great pains to tell parents not to send them with good stuff and we also had a year to pay!

We've obviously all missed a trick. These piranha's are definitely a brilliant money making scheme. :D

I think it must be the same place :rotfl:

He has wellies, and a good coat ;)

DS is more bothered September will be cold and wet! Where as his friends going this year are going in June! Then will go again in September with DS. I think he forgets where we actually live and it could be snowing in June :rotfl:

I didn't collect him today so only saw the letter once he was home. I will ask on Monday more details and what they need etc.

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

September can be a lovely month. He might even need suncream. DS went in December and he is not made of hardy stuff but survived. :D x
  • I hope DS can go on the trip. I agree that the weather can often be lovely in September and it often rains in June because DH and DS1 have birthdays then!
