It is Residential Lucky, that's with the pupil premium taken into account its actually £249 for those who don't get that

It was only after you told me about it I went into school and asked them and it was only when we went back in Jan and DS had this trip they have actually put that all 3 smalls are eligible for it! I had been paying full price for everything. As they aren't on the dinners it doesn't automatically show for them or something. But it's sorted now. Good job because at £99 I'm not sure what I'll do yet but at £249 they'd have been no chance of even thinking of it!

  • Ah ok. I suppose a reduction is better than nothing. Glad you have it sorted with them now.

So what can we do to get DS on his trip? Xx

  • Absolutely ask for any pupil premium funding to be used towards the trip. There is some sort of historical time frame with pupil premium funding, so that even if you don't qualify now but have in the past, pp funding is there to be used. I can't remember the length of the time frame but definitely worth asking about.

Well done on clearing the council tax and credit card :T:j:beer:

It isn't until September they go, I'm considering asking if I pay the deposit of £25 (which isn't refundable) shows I will definitely pay but ask can I pay over longer :o Bet they hate me in that school :o

Flipping heck, paying £99 over 2 months is a big ask let alone those who need to pay £249. Surely they've known the trip will take place for a while and could have mentioned something sooner?

DD and DS both went on residentials and had a great time but we were told about them months in advance which gave us plenty of time to pay for them. Honestly, I can't believe you've all only got 2 months to pay. x

I think it's more than likely so they can fill the places when people don't pay Tea, they have changed when they go. This years Year 6 are going in June where as DS's year will go as soon as they go into Year 6. It says to help build relationships between new friends/new teachers etc. So we obviously have the big holidays before they go where as this year they will be filling the places now as they are in school.

I think DS is nervous at the idea of leaving me :o Keeps coming to ask questions and DD1 told him to watch out for bears because bears like eating smelly boys :rotfl:

Not sure what the trip is WB but if it's anything like mine went on they needed quite a bit of stuff. Sleeping bag, wellies, waterproofs etc. Just something to bear in mind. x

This is my other worry :o I'm wondering if I ask them for the list now they will think I'm crazy?

Those on my Insta will have seen my post but please don't 'out' DS's school on here :o

Your daughters are so funny. Poor DS he is definitely outnumbered. DS didn't want to go, he's definitely not the outdoors type and it was very outdoor activity based - in December  But he loved it. There was a 'piranha pool' at theirs and it used to be the talk of the school :rotfl:

Don't let the kit stop you from aiming for him to go. I've got a sleeping bag for starters and I'm sure other things will come your way. Plenty of time to sort that side of things out. I think I've said the main things the rest was just extra clothes in case they get wet and a bit of pocket money. School put a £5 limit on what ours could take. It was just for a bar of chocolate from the shop etc. Just wanted to point out they usually need some stuff. x
