  • Evening,

Busy day today, Back to back appointments and both of them over run! But they went well and I feel a lot better and have some things to work on. They have helped figure some things out that need working on and seeing from a different point of view.
Today's appointments focused on the 'cutting' people out, pushing them away and breaking off from friendships. This was a target area because of some things going on with the smalls. Anyway it she has given me loads to think about and try to work on. Mainly 'relationships' with people/friends/family doesn't mean I have to lose control of the situation etc. Lots to consider. Need a pen and paper out I think :o

Also food - We all know where that leads. Still one I'm not there with yet :o

Anyway I usually leave feeling 'fed up' or low. Not today. I feel ready to face all this head on and make sure I can be the best I can for the smalls and most of all so we can all be happy. (I realise how long some of you have been telling me this :o) I'm not the quickest at listening :o

Therapy such as you are having isn't a linear process. Obviously, I can't know what went on in your today sessions but it sounds like it has been productive and you have felt a 'breakthrough' but the truth may be much more subtle and the work you have done in previous sessions may have contributed much to what happened today, even if it hasn't felt like it in the past.

Can I please therefore encourage you to keep going to your appointments? You may find that you have more 'mental health lightbulb moments' like this if you do. (You might not, either, I'm not a mental health snake oil saleswoman:rotfl:but you will never know if you stop trying.)

A bit of background: a few years ago I accidentally ended up having counseling (don't ask - long story - I went to see someone about something else but ended up getting that plus counseling and staying 18 months in the end!:rotfl:) It was, accidentally, one of the best things I have ever done for myself and changed my outlook on life immensely. It wasn't a linear thing, though - it's not like a broken bone that heals - it's slow, subtle and I remember once making a cup of tea at home and being absolutely bowled over by a random thought that came into my head which explained lots of the things I had been discussing in my sessions for several weeks previous to that moment. (The brain carries on thinking in the background between sessions, you see.)

So could you pretty please keep going to your appointments, even if they don't appear to be getting you far instantly? Consider it an investment in yourself and your smalls as it will help you to be the best version of yourself and live a happier life for you and your smalls and it will teach them a valuable lesson that they, too, can change their lives in the future should they ever need to.

Well done, Wannabe. You are absolutely slaying things at the minute; debts, negotiations, appointments, being a great mum and a great person...:T

Morning :) Did it snow where you are last night? Thought we'd get up to loads this morning but it was all gone.

Good luck with the meal planning and trying to squeeze some extra out to get rid of the CT but don't leave yourself too short. It'll definitely be gone next week anyway. :T

Hope you have a good day. x
  • Morning Wannabe,

What an exciting couple of days you have had, that CT will not know what's hit it.

I echo what others have said and please do keep going to your appointments.

I hope that your coffee was nice too.

Wishing DS a lovely time on his trip today :) xx

Wow so many replies. Thank you all so much.

I do worry about the MH stuff being posted sometimes. I do keep the majority of it of here and the deeper stuff obviously. But it does fit into my diary here as such a big part of everyday. I wouldn't like to offend anyone though and it's obviously not something I talk about in real life with anyone other than the appointments.

Thank you Milan you're brave reading all my moaning :rotfl:

PB - I feel some of the previous sessions helped me and them know that certain things I'm just not willing to 'work on' and talk about. However yesterday was more focused on what I wanted to understand and I feel anything that can make going forward easier/better it's worth it and I'll work at it 100%. One day the other things might fit into this but right now I'm not ready to open them boxes. Hope that makes sense. I will continue to go now though - without keep cancelling and putting it off. I feel like I need it now more than ever.

More in next post because I can't remember what else was said :o

Morning Teafor2, no snow here this morning - it's really really foggy though is it there?

Morning PMO2 - Coffee was good, was nice to have an adult conversation too. It made the day easier, I mean I'm a loner but sometimes it's nice to have some face to face conversation.

    Thank you

    Morning all :D

I didn't expect so many replies :o I think I've replied to everyone shout at me if not ;)

DS is on his school trip today and the weather is horrid - it's so foggy. So I'm my anxiety is so high :o I've scrubbed the house and finally done the windows. Just waiting for the bedding to finish drying so I can iron and put it back on.

Just having a cuppa then going to look in the freezer and sort a meal plan.

Hope you all have a lovely day and keep warm!

  • Not so much foggy here, just nasty and murky and cold and grey! We had the most glorious sunrise today - the sky was just stunning, but I guess that was the "shepherd's warning" as it's anything but glorious now! :rotfl:

Outstanding work on that CT debt - I can feel your excitement at getting it gone now but PLEASE don't be tempted to throw extra at it ahead of the end of your week unless it's something like survey money that is a proper "extra" - I'd hate to see another "school shoes" type item come along from nowhere and leave you short, and if all goes well and there's nothing unexpected then you may well be able to get it gone next week, think about that!

Hope DS has a lovely school trip.

Oh, and I TOTALLY agree with Milann (I think it was) that if anyone is "offended" by anything you write here they can stop reading - your diary, your decisions, your rules.
