I wish I was clever enough to home educate her
Have you looked into it? I HEed my DD for a year and I've never regretted it. If you Google 'Education Otherwise' there's a lot of helpful information. There are also local groups you can join for mutal support, meet-ups if wanted and lots of help and information.

I've dipped my toes in to looking. I'm not sure about the cost/if I would be allowed etc. It's scaryand I'd hate to do anything wrong and get in trouble etc.
I would love too though. I feel like she'd get so much more benefit out of it.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
Glad that things are looking a wee bit healthier.
Not great, but a wee bit happier.

I'm supposed to be watching a film with DD but had to post.
I've wanted to mention HE for a while but wasn't sure if it's something you would think about. You are so capable! DD is only little, she just needs to learn through play. You can get the curriculum online if you want to follow it, but you don't have too. You are 'allowed. The only thing I could see would be if DD dad contested it but he would have to take you to court.
It is just 1 letter to school.
We are currently deciding if DD2 is going back as I hate seeing her so upset.
There's some Facebook pages if you want to have a look in to it.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Thank you Cherry just having a read on there and CT mind if I pm you a few questions? I just feel she's missing so much of school anyway and when she's there I feel she isn't supported to 'catch up' etc.
Thank you Beanie. For everything :A

Your littlest DD is very young, isn't she, Wannabe?
How much do they really *learn* at that age beyond the basic 3Rs?
Perhaps it's not such a crazy idea. Why don't you look at the curriculum and see what you think?
Even if it were only for a year until her health is a bit steadier, it might make a lot of sense.Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20

She's 4 will be 5 in March. However she isn't your 'normal' 4 year old. She didn't speak at all until well over 2 not a word. She didn't eat until then either. However she's actually quite 'clever?' hate saying that. In that she can do simple additions/subtractions to 20 and can write her name and simple things. She can't really read yet just 'key' words. I feel the majority though she has picked up at home because she's only been at school for 27% of the time since September
But emotionally I feel she's quite far behind. She's spent a lot of her first 3 years in hospital (every milestone/every birthday/Xmas etc)
I don't want to jump the gun, After Easter term she should get more funding for support as she legally has to be in some sort of full time education.
I think I'm going to have a real look in to it. I'd hate to hold her back as I'm not 'clever'

At your DD's age, lots of learning can be done through play and investigation. If you take pictures of things that she is doing/learning, you can build up a learning journey, like a scrapbook that shows what she can do. There are lots of resources online that can support you in educating at home.
Glad you have been able to get some sleep and feel better for it.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

You won't hold her back. She has older siblings which will be stimulating, and you do so much with the children I think you're virtually home educating anyway.
If you really want to do this, don't let 'cleverness' hold you back - you are capable in so many areas and what you don't know, you can always find on Google. Little trips to the library, park, free museums and art galleries can also be part of HE if you want, and you can learn together.
DD learned at home from a year when she was 12 and was able to slot back into school when she was ready. She now has a good degree, so I doubt I did her much of a disservice.I really think at the age of 4 or 5 she will learn a lot just from being with you. Bet she enjoys cooking and art already!
Please pm if you think I can help, sadly the blog I kept while homeshooling died when the host sight was sold on, but I might remember something of use. In the meantime I found this which might help.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
