  • Evenin'.

Being plagued by pain across my back under the shoulderblades again today. I don't know what's caused it and I don't like it - it feels as though there's a tight band of pain threatening to ping at any time, despite decent posture and being very careful to only move light things about. Time for some high strength painkillers tonight, I think.

But I am very popular at work for finally fixing the electric piano for just over twenty quid, rather than the couple of hundred a professional repairer would charge. Only two more guaranteed to be successful repairs to go and two No chance in Heck is Anything I do Going to Fix 'Ems. One more guitar vandalised today got repaired too, along with a kid's very special, sentimental reasons necklace they shouldn't even have been wearing.

Also done the design work for Xmas shows. I've justified using the same design varied very slightly for each one on the grounds of needing a 'coherent theme and look for the performances', rather than 'I can't be arrised with faffing about with stuff that's going to be abandoned on the floor at the end of each night, so I've copied a shot of some candles from Google Images, picking the one with most red on it because it's Xmas, and stuck some writing on top'. I think I've swung it.

My office/workroom is a flaming disgrace, though. As is home - I doubt whether Himself will do much of it as he leaves at silly o'clock tomorrow morning - but I'm not going to risk doing it until my back calms down a bit.

As regards eating properly, I tend to prefer veggies or something hot from a pan chucked on salad anyhow, so that shouldn't be too hard to sort out - there's a small supermarket round the corner which sells just enough of proper ingredients to not bother with ding dinners or things in packets (other than microwave rice).

Himself is hopefully on his way back from the last songwriting session for the next few weeks by now, so he can sort out some food for tonight. And I don't care whether he want to 'spend some time together' or not - I am going to bed early and if he wants to talk to me, he'll have to follow suit.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Major progress made: all drawers in the sitting room, dining room, kitchen and bedroom have been sorted, decluttered, cleaned and tidied. I'll finish the cupboards in those rooms tomorrow because I've done the bedroom, so it's only the dining room and kitchen cupboards that need doing.

Then I have to deal with the drawers (lots, including the filing cabinet) and cupboards (many shelves in them) in my Room of Doom. That'll take an entire week but if I could get it done by the end of this week I'd be really chuffed.

There is space in every single place I've done, in some cases drawers that were full are now half empty. Excellent.
    Better is good enough.

If a school employs a supply teacher with the same name as Mrs Valli, this, apparently, is hysterically funny...

and it got even more frantic today.

On the other hand, before I was redeployed dinners were reconciled super quick with two classes correct IMMEDIATELY! Go me

I have done almost everything off my list today, and decluttered some zzz for half an hour ;)
Unfortunately DS1 hasn't turned up yet, and I'm supposed to be going out to the Old Wives in about 10 minutes :( I expect he has either got caught up at school or simply forgot. Either way, I forgive him.

Honey Bear, I boil new potatoes in their skins, keep them in the fridge and reheat however many I want between two dinner plates in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes (heats the plates nicely too!). Dead easy. Lunch today was nom-nom and ready in 5 minutes from when I got home :D

Thanks for anniversary wishes. We are going out for lunch tomorrow :D

mrs-mp, yes, I have you on my :xmassmile list.

Must write an email to my friend before I go out, and send her some info she asked for.

(((Hugs))) to those in need and high-fives to all who are celebrating flying today x
  • Thank you for the warm welcome. :)

    Today I have managed:

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room/Area
    Level One

Empty out the fridge, replace what is inside after wiping it out, making sure what is needed first is at the front
    Level Two
    Wipe down surfaces
    Clean floors in these rooms
Wipe kitchen cupboard fronts and kickboards
Wipe down fronts of major appliances (cooker, fridge, freezer etc)
    Level Three

Clean the (microwave combo) oven if you missed it last week or it needs it
MAD half hour ~ Have you got Christmas Cards to buy?

    Extras...
    • Clean the dish drainer, make sure you clean under it too

I used my MAD half hour to list some handbags I no longer use on eBay and cleared out the first of many bags of gibble from my RoD.

However, just in case I was getting a bit too cocky about my flying my dishwasher started spewing out bubbles from the bottom of the door. I had a peek inside and it looks as though it's not draining. Thankfully it's still under warranty so I'll call the vendor in the morning.

May my enthusiasm for flying long continue.

Firstly (with my Pedant's hat on and tongue firmly in cheek) I don't send Christmas cards, I send Yule cards. ;) Secondly, I have made my own this year (can never find anything I like that doesn't have the C word in and doesn't cost a small fortune). I finished printing them out a couple of days ago. Which is just as well as the pc is poorly and has got to go to pc hospital, and I cba installing the printer software on the laptop just to print a few cards. :D

Didn't get any of my course, or my article done, because Mr LW needed me to help sort out what we need to do to get the pc ready for it's trip to pc hospital (it's being collected by courier on Wednesday). But I did get all the cooking/baking done, the recycling bundled up, and the kitchen tidied after.
Oh, and the Frog I mentioned got eaten. With relish. :rotfl: *FLING*
