Evening all and a warm welcome to Lover of Lycra :hello:

Thank you for the lists ladies and thanks for the pledge list Natty

Hugs Fayolle and hope it goes as well as these things can

Well I am in for the week but difficult to know how it's going to go. We were meant to be getting our new windows tomorrow, but the project leader came on Friday afternoon and said our windows hadn't arrived at the depot so they won't be coming Monday. That was bad enough, but he couldn't say when they will now be coming  We go on holibobs Saturday, to meet up with DS in Valencia for a week's jolly, so they can't come Friday or anytime the next week obviously.

We went ahead today however, and moved everything around in the spare room so they can get to the windows when they do arrive. That room is the one most full of 'stuff' as not only the sofa bed but also DH's music equipment, our suitcases, the chest freezer, large desk and chair, and a few other bits are in there as well. So now just the blind and curtains to take down when we know they are coming.

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room/Area
Empty out the fridge, replace what is inside after wiping it out, making sure what is needed first is at the front
    Wipe down surfaces
    Clean floors in these rooms
Wipe kitchen cupboard fronts and kickboards
Wipe down fronts of major appliances (cooker, fridge, freezer etc)
    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe & replace small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc (wipe under too, especially the toaster!)
Clean the oven if you missed it last week or it needs it
MAD half hour ~ Have you got Christmas Cards to buy?
    Extras...
Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms
Clean the dish drainer, make sure you clean under it too
Clean any 'medium' size appliances, bread makers, slow cookers etc
Clean out and organize one drawer, more if you like
Check the freezer, see what needs using up

Hugs, sticks and spoons if you need some
Hope you all have a great Monday

  • Pledge To get bathrooms, kitchen, living room and bedroom all looking spick and span with not one thing out of place by the time Himself is back for Christmas.

One a week. I can do this, right?

Just got a message. I've been booked as support for a fairly well known folk duo at one gig. Got to learn the music now. On two, maybe three or four separate instruments - maybe I should just hang them all around my neck at once?

Oh, and in the time, I also have the usual day job, a huge church service and three carol services to deal with. And exams for two subjects, which includes a late night for filming performances. And a school trip to a theatre company in Central London.

    Yeah, no problem _pale_

:eek::eek:And I thought you might be able to look forward to a bit less hassle for the next 4 weeks! Just make sure you've got some decent food in the house to keep your energy levels up (and I don't mean peanuts and packets of crisps). Have you got a slow cooker? I find mine invaluable when I'm trying to juggle a crazy week, like this one.

In fact, I woke up this morning far too early at 5.15, went down to make a cuppa, and ended up prepping and starting SC pork, butternut squash, sweet potato and red pepper soup, and some swede and carrot mix which always takes ages to cook through.

Still feeling a bit meh about yesterday evening - 3 days' preparation for a talk to 9 people is in many ways not best use of my time, but it's part of my course commitment. I thought deeply and learnt a lot in the process so not all bad, and some people made very perceptive comments afterwards which showed that they had been listening - always a good sign.

DH is in a 'down' mood, partly brought on by the fact that he said he'd like to come for a walk with me and Rosie yesterday afternoon, and afterwards complained that his hip was hurting. Hopefully he will make it into town this morning for the monthly U3A Canals Group. Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary so I have decided to suggest rearranging the day around going out together for lunch or for a late afternoon meal before I have to go to college (I normally eat there on a Tuesday evening) and see if that cheers him up. His mood swings are worse than a yoyo's.

    Today I must
    - do at least an hour's studying
    - update my toots list with deadlines
    - take Rosie for a short walk
    - drive for an hour each way to spend an hour and a half with a friend (not just a social call)
    - get lunch (SC pork should hopefully be ready by then, there are boiled new potatoes in the fridge from yesterday because I always cook the whole bag, and the swede and carrot will just need reheating, so only green veg to cook)
    - take Rosie to class and then for another, longer walk
    - do some flying
    - finish soup for tea
    - DS1 is coming to pick up his birthday present on his way home :)
    - Old Wives' meeting this evening.

First job tomorrow will be sending out the :xmassmile Secret Santa :xmassmile details :j

  • Thanks for lists, sorry so many of you are having a time of it.

Plan for me this week is to try and get spare room and bathroom tidied and readied for visitors at Christmas. It is actually in a separate out building so very easy to ignore and will also need to look at sorting the heating and hot water out over there too.

I am at home all day today so should get quite a bit done, plan is to get my main areas cleaned this morning plus extra in kitchen, then at least get all the bedding from spare room and DDs rooms so that this afternoon I can make a start on huge admin task that will not go away and will get much worse if left too long.

    So far,
    Fire cleared
    Tidied round
    Loos cleaned
    WM on

No excuses so better shift myself!
