Welcome !!!!!!. I am also easily distracted from boring jobs. My best friend is my kitchen timer. I set it for 15 minutes and go like the clappers to see how much I can do in the time. It focusses the mind wonderfully.
Also I have small routines - leave the kitchen tidy before going to bed, plumping up cushions and removing detritus from the living room when leaving it, swishing round loo and washbasin first thing in morning, - that eventually become so ingrained that you dont even know you're doing it.
Today I have to collect my prescription from the nearest chemist, quite a long walk away.
I want to make out a list of people to send Christmas cards to. I reckon that if I write 5 a day and leave them unsealed, I can slip in a change of address card in the happy event of me moving before Christmas. Saves 2 lots of postage. Should be finished in a couple of weeks.
This doesn't sound like much for 1 day but believe me, it will take me most of the day.
OL. Washing the outside wall of the house just before midnight? RESPECT.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hi monnagran and all!
It would take me twenty minutes to read (well, find really) the instruction booklet for the kitchen timer the microwave, then it would dawn on me to use the oven timer! I am my own worst enemy!
I made a beef and black bean stew yesterday, which was tasty. The leftovers were for lunch for DH and I today. I have just finished mine, and heck, that chilli powder matured from spicy to "blow yer head off" overnight! Received a text from DH to say he had enjoyed his lunch, tho it was a little fiery!
I tamed the clutter corner yesterday afternoon, and have gained two whole drawers!
I started today with good intentions, emptied the bins and took out the rubbish. I am trying to wash up after each meal, so did the breakfast stuff and packed it away before I washed the rubbish bins. Gave the loo a quick spruce up.
Mr T delivered my shopping, all now packed away. There was a bit of a saga with a gammon joint which they substituted according to them for a larger size than I ordered, it was in fact smaller. Long and short of it, I phoned their customer services and got a £5.00 refund. Happy me, especially as that was the final shop of the month for me, so am a whole £5.07 under budget! Yay!!
Moved some books to an empty shelf, freeing up room for art stuff in another cabinet, which means I can finally get rid of a huge wheeled brief case that formerly contained it all that I have been tripping over for months
Another visit from Son in Law, to print various docs off.
Off to the local shopping mall tonight, deep joy!!! My DH has convinced himself that he must have the latest iPad. I've tried cajoling, sulking, and outright threats, but his case of "I wants" is rock solid. So tonight he gets the ruddy thing.
So, I am tempted to just while the afternoon away......and ignore the washing up, the 1001 things that need doing, to hell with it all!
I'm rambling again, my apologies. Have a great weekend everyone!

And my address book and pad, pen and pile of Christmas cards remains untouched.
On the other hand I have got my prescription and embroidered stars on 8 of the Christmas stockings I am knitting.

OL, good luck with getting anyone of the male species to do any useful jobs. Useful to you that is, things that are exclusively useful to them are done in a heartbeat.
Don't get me started!
Today I really will try to get my Christmas card list sorted. It's the only Christmas prep I intend doing so once it's done I'm sorted.
Other than that just a bit of shopping, a bit of reading and maybe some soup made.

Mrs SD, I do that all the time. Just cross out the day at the top of the list and write the next day in.
