OL, you are quite right. I wouldn't like it, it must take a tremendous toll on your energy and your mental well-being, but there must be a happy medium. Perhaps one day we will both find it.
In the meantime, I love clean and tidy. I just don't like doing clean and tidy.

nanny beach, I have no idea. I guess its like most of the threads on this forum and it's just an excuse for a good gossip.

  • Friday has been another dry day but again overcast & cold.
DH & I transferred the TV, DVD/VHS Player & Sk* Box from the coffee table to the new to me cabinet. DH had to enlarge the hole to get the wires through  All the wires/cables are hidden behind the cabinet. The bonus is that everything still works :rotfl: He also spent more time working on the motorbike - he is still adding the fog lights but it is proving more time consuming than he thought. He has to finish it off tomorrow:D

    FRIDAY’s LIST

Set up TV, SKY box & DVD/VHS on/in new cabinet - DONE
DH to mend my wardrobe :rotfl:
DH to put up picture in bedroom :rotfl:
DH to put up blind in his office
    Wash kitchen floor - DONE
Wipe down kitchen tiles - DONE
Clean kitchen window & external door - DONE + window frame cleaned - DONE
Baking - plum crumble & fruit cake

The only one of my jobs that I didn’t do was the baking :T However, I did do some extras :T -
Washed the hall & cloakroom floors, vacuumed the whole of downstairs, oiled my chopping board, thoroughly disinfected my kitchen worktops, moved the dismantled dining room table out of the living room & polished the wooden coffee table which is now being used as a coffee table :rotfl: rather than a TV stand :rotfl:

    SATURDAY’s LIST

Baking - plum crumble & fruit cake
Wash & dry bedding & remake bed as I only have one set of winter bedding :D
Go out with DH :D weather permitting :D
DH to finish working on his motorbike
    DH to mend my wardrobe
DH to put up picture in bedroom
DH to put up blind in his office

Unpack some toiletries I was given as gifts in the last year to refill stores I use everyday.
Cook meat and make steak pies.
Finish book "Let Me Lie" by Clare Mackintosh

Just going out to hang washing and hopefully if I can get it dry I will iron it later today or tomorrow.

Mrs S D, I can just about understand the way that your DH's jobs appear on your to -do list. Obviously you have to pu a great deal of effort into cracking the whip to get various household jobs done. But working on the motor bike? Really?

I also did nothing yesterday. Cold, dark and rainy. Time to get cosy.

Today I am going to get stuck into making up time on writing Christmas cards. I did plan on doing 5 a day but I'm about 5 days behind. It's a job I like doing, but it's still a job.

Anything else that gets done will be a bonus.

  • monnagran, no car so the motorbike is our mode of transport & has to be in tip top condition :D Of course I do not ride :rotfl: I am only a pillion passenger which means I get to have a tipple when we go out & about :rotfl:
As a reward for doing jobs in the house (the ones I could do but don’t want to :rotfl:) my lovely DH gets to play with the motorbike :rotfl: By the way, his late mother also taught him to cook ;) - although the clearing up leaves a lot to be desired :rotfl: Good job I like washing up :rotfl:

It is bitterly cold today :( but DH has filled the bird & squirrel feeders & set up a new peanut feeder in the olive tree :T I on the other hand am watching a topless Sharpe :rotfl: ooh er missus :rotfl: but I have put the first load of bedding in the wm :D - have to show willing :rotfl:

    See you all later
