Jings, that is a massive list for just one day!

I didn't get everything done on yesterday's list, but I am pleased with what I did achieve.

    Today's list:

    Clean bathroom (ugh)
    More laundry
    More ironing
Wrap Christmas presents for distant relatives as we see them on Sunday
    Chase non paying eBayer
Go to Post Office to post parcel (eBayer that has paid)
    Declutter bottom drawer
    Take DH to train station
If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters
  • So, again not done too much as the dog has been a real pain. Had to have him back to the vets as he managed to get to his wound. He's not coping very well and has become a bigger baby than usual. I will not be having a male dog in the future they are a nightmare!! Just like men. Sorry for any men on this discussion, don't mean to offend.

So I have managed to clean out chest freezer so can start to put leftovers etc in there.

My aim for today is to get these 3 things done.

Tidy dining room ( not used as dining room more as a dump everything room as I live alone with my dog)
    Make the shepherds pie
    Put my clothes away

    Have a great day everyone.

I love the feeling of being mentally organised. It now just needs to be translated into action which is not so appealing.

Today I must sign yet one more form and get it in the post.

Write birthday letter and card to dear friend.

Vacuum all through bottom of the house, all hardwood floors, and then comes the treat.

Wash floors with my new whizzy mop.

That's quite enough excitement for one day.

Managed to do everything on my list yesterday....almost. I spent all my energy on playing with my new mop in the living room and didn't get round to the kitchen.

    Today.

Wash kitchen floor and fronts of cupboards.

walk up to village and post friends birthday card.

    Take chicken out of freezer.

Pack the china from the dresser swathed in bubble wrap.

Refrain from spending too long popping said bubble wrap -- it renders it useless.

It was and I wasn't able to get through half of it because I was felled by sickness in the latter half of the day. I think it was a combination of already feeling like a sinus thing was coming on and that I got a flu shot at the doctor's appointment on the list below. After eating lunch at home, I got an incredible chill and could not warm up whatsoever so I took to bed to warm up. It was battle for the last 12 hours going between freezing and too hot. Oh well, I'm feeling a bit better today but my sinuses are still stuffed up. I'm going to try to get some more stuff done today.

Right. Off to hose myself down and go outside. Thankfully I'm not too ill and taking shower then being outside makes me feel much better.

I'd like to tag along with you for this journey, please.

i'm 62, retired and trying to get some oomph to change a lifetime of avoiding general housework. This will be quite a task as I am so easily distracted from a task I dislike. I am no longer fit and agile, and watching endless glamorous US ladies flit around their gleaming home fills me with trepidation. I can work solid for an hour, but have to rest. Slowly I have been tackling things around the home. Getting the washing up done after each meal. Home cooking from scratch (I'm on an economy drive, too!). Three indoor cats, and a husband with depression. I want our home to be a place of peace and comfort for DH when he comes home from work after a day of stress and frustration.

I'm rambling a bit, but I'm hoping that within these pages, I'll find practical tips and encouragement to continue this until I can actually achieve a clean home, that will take only minutes to maintain. Just need to remove years of accumulated clutter, crud and debris, :rotfl:

Today I have started on the bathroom, cleaned the shower door and bathtaps, Skim cleaned the loo, as I deep cleaned it yesterday. Beef and black bean stew is chugging away in the slow cooker. This afternoon I will tackle a clutter corner, where I chuck anything from game console controllers to Spirograph!

Thanks for reading, hope I don't get too many TL : DR ,

  • Hello, forgot to post yesterday. The dog is a bit brighter but still seems traumatised by his op and he's really fed up that he can't go out and play.

I actually got quite a few things done in the house yesterday. Even stuff that wasn't on my list but was actually on my big to do list.

This is what I got done yesterday:

    Made the Shepherds Pie
    Cancelled Audible subscription
Got a new deal with BT and Sky saving me lots of money.
Managed to get my astronomical water bill down.
Finally managed to put clothes away.

    Today
    Clear up the dining room
take the dog to vets for a check-up after the op
Go to Aldi for a few bits
Make cauliflower and chickpea curry for tea.

  • Hello again!
It's not going to be as productive a day as I had thought. Son-in-law called in needing moral support as he is going through a difficult relationship breakup. I hope he left here in a better frame of mind than he arrived with.

Still have time to tackle the clutter corner - I'm convinced it just snarled at me
