Thanks Wendy, was really having palpitations just looking. Thought the balance would be about £800 and then I'd feel disapointed.
Have got up this morning, ironed some things, put washing in machine which will be pegged out before I leave for work and I've promised myself I'm going to de-clutter drawer number 2 tonight.0 -
Have had a phone call from the Halifax today and they've agreed to refund me my charges in full £221. I can't believe it I'm so thrilled.
Diz - have just de-cluttered drawer 2, so I am trying hard as promised.
If I could just clear a few more books on Amazon that would de-clutter some more and earn me some more money. Have got 2 earnings enquiries pending with Quidco, one for A&L and one for HSBC saver. I'm hoping I'll hear from them soon, together they are worth £70. Just have to sit back and wait for the money to roll in then.0 -
£221 that is more great news, It will help you enjoy DS's birthday without worrying too much about budgetting and Im sure some will head in the ISA's direction to boost that some more.
No decluttering going on here.:j0 -
Thanks Wendy I'm really chuffed with the Halifax. Initially thought I'd shot myself in the foot by refusing to accept the £65 they offered me but it's paid to argue. I can't believe how much I've reclaimed and it's all thanks to this site. I managed to pay off every bit of debt I had just through reclaiming back charges.
I hope the Welcome PPI will be just as easy, that would be a huge success for me as I found that company a real pain in the butt to deal with so would love to get something back from them.
I've reclaimed from absolutely every place I've ever had a bank account, loan or credit card with and Welcome is the last one now. I feel quite sad that I've run out of places. How sad is that?0 -
:T Fantastic news GR...it just shows it's worth having a go, you were so determined.
Good job on the decluttering...I've been naughty and not done mine, okay in theory but at the moment I'm rubbish at practice...

Hey Diz, long time no speak. How are you doing hun? You can have a few days off the de-cluttering whilst you get over your DS moving out.
Fab news about the Halifax isn't it, I was sooooo chuffed. Keeping my fingers crossed now that I get something from Welcome!0 -
Im not sure weather to be proud, annoyed or what that I have only ever paid one or two charges in my life. I managed to rack up all this debt by myself without help from the banks lol!. OH did incur loads which part were a joint account. I claimed just under £1000 from HSBC. I really want to tackle his cc's but he wont let me.:j0

Oh Wendy you must persuade him. I cleared the majority of my debt with reclaiming charges. I'm a bit of a card tart and managed to rack up charges (not thousands) with Halifax, Egg, Vanquis, Capital One, Mint and Abbey (which reminds me, I'm still waiting for them to send me my statements, so there is still another one to reclaim). I've reclaimed mortgage exit fees from Halifax, Birmingham Midshires and Beneficial Stirling. It was definitely worth it.0

Another thing on the list along with car to work on then!:j0
