Havent posted for a few days so here's an update
I won another 6 cinema tickets off of a different comp online. So thats now 4 pairs of cinema tickets i have! They all came today in the post:D
So we will be watching plenty of free movies! They are valid till 7th August so plenty of time.
The postie also brought me a surprise win Miss sporty foundation.:D I dont normally wear foundation i wear minerals foundation as my skin often breaks out in spots if i put foundation on, but this has vitamins in it.;)
I spent the £10 asda gift card i received for complaining the other day on 2 necklaces and a belt that ive been wanting for ages.
I also got my Aussie shampoo and conditioner (£5) for free in asda as my mum put it in with her food shopping and i gave her £5 worth of money off coupons that the lady at till happily scanned through no problems.:D
And i recieved £2 paypal from writershare as 2 of my comments were accepted!Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -

Thanks lilmiss, i really cannot wait to be debt free!;) I just have all fingers crossed that nothing will go wrong this month that i will need to spend money on.
As this morning i got up went to straighten my hair and my GHD's have just stopped working!!!!!I brought them about 5 years ago now for £120!!! Ive looked on ebay its a common fault with them and people on ebay fix them for £10 but then you have to add on £5 postage each way. So £20 to fix them. I needed a new pair ASAP as there's not a chance i would leave the house with my hair un-straightened as its like a frizzy puff ball naturally! So OH and i popped to Boots and he brought me a cheapy vidal sassoon pair that were reduced to only £15! He said he would buy me a new pair of GHD's coz there far by the best and fastest. But i wasnt going to let him waste £100 on me when he has debt too!
Anyway, ive tested the new ones out and it takes about 15mins longer to get my hair frizz free than it does with GHD's. But at least they do the job!
I had a look on ebay and broken GHD's sell for £25!:D (probably the people that fix them buying them to fix and resell) So im going to pop my old ones onto ebay later.;)
Also i have seen that people are selling the same cinema tickets i won on ebay and there going for about £6 for two tickets. I may be tempted to sell 2 pairs of my tickets on ebay too. Make some extra dosh.
I was having a look on rightmove earlier and my hometown is soooo expensive to rent/buy. I looked at a town that i dont really like thats about 20min drive away and renting and buying is sooo much cheaper there! OK so it isnt as nice of town as where i live now but theres a 2 bed HOUSE with garden for only £575 PCM rent! For that price in chelmsford all you can get is a studio flat or small 1 bed flat. Now im feeling very confused:think:

Hey Maria,
It sounds like things are going really well at the moment, well done you. Maybe this time next year you will be on your way to having your own place and maybe a lil 'un on the way? :j i guess from your posts that you would like a family asap? with all those vouchers of yours you won't have to pay for much to begin with.
I've had 3 pairs of GHD's in 5 years, my first pair broke after about a year, i think that was prob my fault as i do tend to drop them alot, and after that the wire has come loose and they have stopped working. I now use a pair of £30 Remington ones until i can afford to buy a new pair, but i totally agree it takes twice as long to straighten your hair, can't wait to get another pair of GHD's, if only they wasn't so expensive.0 -
Rent is horrid i agree, we pay £550 a month for our 2 bedroom house but i expect that will go up again in August, it started at £535 nearly 3 years ago, thats £18340 we have paid in rent as of 25th June this year
Could have got a house deposit together easy without paying that :rolleyes:Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Hi Maria - well done on getting yourself pretty much debt free now - you;ve done so well and this thread has been a fantastic read!
Have you looked at Harlow for property? (I know - it might well be the towm you mentioned that you don't much like!) It is a typical new town but in its favour it has plenty of green spaces so it's quite nice to live in, and property is a lot cheaper too. Check out the North Western area of town as that has some really nice bits. Good luck with your search wherever you end up!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi and thanks EssexHebridean:D No it wasnt Harlow i was talking about above its Braintree that i dont like....I mean its OK i just wouldnt like to live there...just me being picky! :rotfl: Ive never actually been to Harlow before. We couldnt move that far as my OH works in Great Dunmow and he needs to keep his fuel bill down as much as possible.
Hayley- Arh! I hope what you said will happen! I do want a family soon but there is so much to think of when your thinking of bringing a new life into the world. Moneywise and housing wise. My head often feels like its going to pop when we start planning what we will do!:o
Lilmiss- Exactly what you just said puts me off renting! The whole time while renting i would be thinking this rent could have gone towards my own house. But i cant live with my parents forever! So renting it may have to be whether i like it or not!:rolleyes:Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Hiya hun,
A girl at my work is buying a house through a new government scheme called MyChoiceHomebuy and i have had a look into it and you can buy your own house, your own choice, and they loan you the money to do it so you don't need a deposit.
It looks really good, you should see if any housing associations near you do it, i am going to talk to Nick about it, only thing is you can only get a 2 bedroom house if you don't have kids and i kind of wanted a 3 bedroom but would be great to own a house and not have to save another 2 years for a deposit and good you get to pick your own one!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -

That sounds alot like the scheme i looked at a few months back ( a few posts back), is it the one where you have to be on your local housing list to be able to qualify for it?Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
I don't think so you can just apply, i apply for mine via my local housing scheme website but you don't need to already be on it, i have registered to fill in the forms but need to speak to Nick first as not sure how he would feel about only have a 2 bedroom. Its only just come out apparently this scheme about a month ago.Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0
