Lynne.. yes, very much so. It seems really wrong that I should be dashing about like a loon tidying and cleaning when he is not helping and just sat doing nothing.. or worse, playing some idiot game on his chuffing phone!! Then when I say I've done too much he says I should have asked for help.. no I shouldn't, I shouldn't HAVE to ask!! He can see the mess the same as me.. I get frequent rage over it!
Fay.. I had toothpaste writing on my bathroom mirror.. I know they should practise but that is the purpose of pencils and paper surely!?
I ate chicken yesterday (Sorry Dizzy and Bianca) and my stomach is agony today, I feel horrendous.. I guess my acquired sensitivity to meat is not improving at all

I find it a lot more straightforward to deal with things (and that includes Flying) when OH is away, but that seems ungrateful about being in the best longterm relationship I've ever been in, so I try very hard not to think it.
As to men helping, I'll be honest about this. If I give OH listy of things that need doing that I consider he should be responsible for, sometimes most of them get done but never everything. If I just expect him to see what needs doing and do it - I'll be waiting forever. He's neat and tidy with his own stuff, but can't declutter without a lot of encoragement and support. My sorting of a space a day for November is producing amazing results, and he knows some of his things are now in the firing line, but he likes the feeling of space he's found since he hacked back his heap in the attic, so we're making amazing progress after living together for nearly 24 years. There is now space in all of the spaces I've sorted, so getting things out and putting things away is easy, whereas before it was a nightmare.
Off to do voluntary things for the last time on the Poppies in Plymouth. There's another organisation I want to support so I've emailed them, which won't come as a total surprise to them given our recent dealings. I don't know if they can use me or not, either way is fine.Better is good enough.0 -
Afternoon ladies,
Busy morning here (what's new :rotfl:) After the school run I:
- Visited the butcher, market and baker
- Stripped our bedding - now in TD as its piddling it down here
- Updated my Christmas list and wrapped around two thirds of them
- Made beds
- Bleached toilets
I have put some lunch in the oven and am now under a blanket watching TV. Giving myself some RnR time today - much needed. Am out most of the day tomorrow so don't feel guilty at all.
Hope you feel much better soon Piggers xxMFW

My thoughts exactly - I've lost count of the number of times DH has "washed everything up" and left one or two things dirty on the side! Unfortunately he doesn't have the tidy habits of your OH, Honey Bear! *If* he puts stuff away, it's never where it ought to be.
And this morning I asked him to go into town and visit the frozen food shop - the whole point being to spend a certain amount and present my store card so that (a) I get the free treat they've promised for my birthday and (b) I have a chance of earning a nice little bonus in time for Christmas (I have to do 3 shops by 26th Nov to get £5). He came home with all the shopping off the listbut said, " I left your store card in the car" Now I'm going to find it almost impossible to fit 2 more loads in the freezers, quite apart from having to go into town twice more in a very busy week :mad::mad:
I've got a grumbling migraine, and I really don't want to go to the cinema this evening, but that would only put DH in an even worse mood...0 -
Iona my DH would do exactly the same sort of thing. Have a hug lovely xx
Back from school run and have potatoes boiling for mash and sausages in the oven. I am very Pre menstrual (sorry if TMI); all bloated and craving sugar. Need to summon up the energy to re-make our bed (always the worst chore I find) and prep dinner. Oh and clean & light the fire. Would prefer to crawl into bed with a cake!

It's only three and a half miles away, and a straightforward route (I made notes on the way, too) so that might be the best option, even though I'm still very scared to drive.Does anyone else find it difficult to get on with the h/w when their other half is about ?Lynne.. yes, very much so. We had a classic this afternoon; I'd promised to make a cheese, potato and onion flan; so he said what could he do to help. I replied "you can prep the spuds and the cheese, that'd be really great, thank you". So we go in the kitchen.... I get the spuds and the steamer out and put them ready for him, thinking that's what he will commence with...... and he starts doing the fiddling little bit of washing up that's on the side, which takes him a month of Sundays to do (he's s--l--o--w at washing up) so I'm left waiting for the spuds..... AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH:wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:
ETA Iona that sort of thing is precisely why I don't let Mr LW go on his own for anything more complicated than getting a carton of milk!!If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Driving done, ate my sandwich watching the sea, the tide was out, and it was sunny and warm!! drove back in the rain!

Afternoon all. Feeling far less sorry for myself today (thank you for all your hugs yesterday), which is lucky as the builders have failed to show, the plasterer has "[STRIKE]popped to another job for a couple of hours[/STRIKE]" disappeared all day and the electrician who promised he would be here on Monday, then Wednesday, then definitely today, mumbled some pathetic excuse to DH at his work and said it's likely to be next week before he can get to us. DH is a snarling ogre now and has plans to sack them all.
My friend's window fitters have failed to show for three days in a row, leaving her sitting at home, unable to go out, in-case someone turned up and needed access inside the house. The painter did about 30mins before the rain came down and stopped play and her builder has gone AWOL as his half-brother committed suicide last night.
On the plus side, I've been rage-flinging in the house and have made real progress in the master bedroom. Every cloud....
Hope your tummy feels better soon Pigpen and your migraine doesn't escalate Iona.
Cuppa on the sofa now. See you all later x0 -
