I've been more of a lurker this week, but managed to get through a reasonable (though not brilliant) amount of work, tidying, praising Mr N for flying, filling bird feeders (fairies are back and there was even a tiny goldcrest one day) and paying bills.
Picked up Mr N's bright red runaround car on Friday and spent time ......running around....in it yesterday doing various chores. This weekend's list included:
    - [STRIKE]review Xmas card list and check how many cards we have[/STRIKE]
    - check Mr T bank for any offers
    - [STRIKE]declutter summer hanging basket from outside front door and plant winter one with plants bought on Fri[/STRIKE]
    - check if any more plants on the patio need to be moved somewhere frost-free
    - [STRIKE]check Mr T volunteer work from Martin's Tips letter[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]practice a new dance (dance class Xmas meal/dance imminent)[/STRIKE]
    - check Big Give charity list which starts soon (list is up)
    - clean suede boots I am embarrassed to say still have salt on them from when we went to Portsmouth in Feb......that has been on lots of lists but never got done and now it's cold I'm wanting to wear them
    - [STRIKE]book in a load of post[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]order e advent calendar[/STRIKE]
    - work out why my printer is making grinding noises

Mr N has gone to collect his mum, who has been staying with his brother for a couple of weeks. I decided it wasn't best use of my time to go as well, so I managed a run, went to church, did the hanging basket and have written half a report.

We're a bit twitchy with scheduling anything at the moment as we don't know the date of our friend's funeral. When that happens it will be frantic flying as my mum, brother, BIL and other friends will come up and stay either with us or with anyone else we can persuade to act as hotel. Unfortunately another member of our 'gang' is in hospital; fortunately it is serious but not life threatening, so we've been to visit him a couple of times and taken his wife home from the hosp to save her getting buses in the cold.

Hugs to lots of people who need them at the moment.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

    Utterly adorable, Piggers.
    Better is good enough.
  • Glad to hear the good news JoJo.

And Pigpen that pic is gorgeous. Maybe we should get everyone on here to post a baby pic of themselves.

So, busy busy weekend. Our fitted wardrobe blitzed, big bag to go to cs, everything tidied and put back. DH has even put new carpet in the bottom. Windows washed, gutters cleaned out, outside swept.

Mountains of washing done, TD has been on, there was just too much to dry it all outside.

And as the boys have both been away overnight I have sorted, listed and wrapped their presents. One or two more to get. And I did a couple of online orders this morning for other people.

DH is still sanding and prepping walls in the hall. I just want to get my jim jams on then chill for an hour before I need to start thinking about packing my gym bag and making packed lunches ...
  • Weird goings on at Tightfisted Towers tonight.

The Permanently Offended Fluffy Cat, who detests the Idiot Cat with every fluffy fibre of her being (in her defence, often with good cause) decided that she was not going to give up her spot on the furry throw right next to my hip when Idiot Cat decided he was going to have his usual spot on the furry throw right next to/against my curled up ankle.

They are now technically huddled up together, sharing fluff and purrs and relaxed catlike happiness.

I have no room to move, being coralled into the corner of the sofa, but they are together. And getting along, well, accepting each other's existence, at any rate.

Himself is rather happily splodged out at the other end of the sofa, completely unencumbered by felines.

The world is strange and unrecognisable now this has happened.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Tapathon went well. We had 68 dancers. We won't know for a while whether the record was achieved as there are events all around the country all dancing the same dance at the same time.

Ds2 has just had a large meltdown. He has tried to rip up his exam certificates and wrecked the living room.

    Lovely pic Piggers

Glad Mr LW is listening X
