I can watch any of the animal stuff.. I can't watch anything with those undead 'Z' things or those evil red nosed circus demons.. I usually only watch 15 and under films/tv though because I am a child. These have found something truly dreadful to watch.. True and the Rainbow something or other... it is ghastly!!!!
Got Squeak a book for christmas and it has arrived torn and bashed.. straight back to Amazon!!
Polyfilla'd all the wall holes in the lav and the bathroom this afternoon while Twinkle was napping.. sanding during her next nap.. and christmas wrapping is being done after everyone is in bed while OH is working, I already sorted that. I am trying to convince myself not to tile the lav but I am failing miserably, I REALLY want it to be clean and tidy and wipeable!! I am going to get the kitchen repainted too.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I shall be attempting a little light fluttering after Snoozy Suzie goes home (due to be picked up 16:00 today). She's currently spark-out on the green chair in the lounge, cutting zzzzz like there was no tomorrow!
Meanwhile, Mr LW has been despatched to the garden while it's good enough weather to cut the grass.;)
Jojo I'm with you on animal films. Several I won't watch because I just know they's leave me a sobbing mess:- Watership Down
- Ring of Bright Water
- Marley and Me
Watership Down is my favourite film - yes, I cried when I read it, but happy tears for Hazel, as it is the most beautiful, tender depiction of death in literature, IMO.
Ring of Bright Water - blubbing (and I didn't approve of the Basking Shark bit).
Tarka the Otter - blubbing.
Kez - won't watch it.
The Horse Whisperer - meh, too much about the people, but the opening scene was difficult.
Marley and Me - terrible book, they were rubbish/irresponsible dog owners and I didn't care about them in the slightest.
Some Disney Film about three bear cubs when the man has to teach them to be afraid of all humans at the end. That upset me as a kid because I wouldn't want to do it either.
And things where the animal is the baddie. They make me raging mad - not just Jaws, poor bloody shark just doing what it is meant to do with idiot food sources appearing in its environment, some %*£( with Liam Neeson in it about a big, bad wolf - just let the wolf eat Neeson in the first five minutes and let's have a decent movie for a change, and anything else where it's Man Against Nature and Man Inevitably Wins Because He's the Hero and Anything That Counteracts the Idea that Guns and Men are Great Must Be Destroyed.
I know what a terrified or wounded horse sounds like. I don't need to see a film where I know the noises that actually happened. I don't need to see a film that skirts perfectly around what my grandfather went through as a 16 year old and that he never stopped seeing or hearing for the following 68 years of his life. And I certainly don't need Himself, having been told clearly I never wanted to see it and why, to stick it on and then wander off.
Got in today to find Himself washing up (like there was much to do ), got presented with carrot sticks and hummus and he's making some veggie pasta thing for tea.
I think he might be trying to mollify me a little.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
it isnt going to be any easier than last week...

Ummmmm....well I seem to remember a s&s of the bathroom before work and sticking a wash on. And I have just s&s'd the kitchen after DH reluctantly 'cooked' dinner. After a fashion. .... I think that's been the sum total of flying today.
Another one who can't watch sad animal films. Or sad films in general. Give me a good old Doris Day bursting into song film any day.
Jobs tonight - finally make some sort of effort to meal plan, write a shopping list for tomorrow, catch up on the unread emails that I have hanging around, and maybe unsubscribe myself from a few.0 -

And if only you knew the buckets' worth of tears I've cried for some of our furry friends on here.....
Suzie's gone home now; but she'll be back on Wednesday of next week for another two night stay. :T
I may get around to doing something resembling Flying tomorrow. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Evening all
Hugs to all the peoples in need of some
Really don't know where today went - it kind of vanished in a haze.
Usual stuff done
Dusted all through, top to bottom
Made a big pot of Coq au Vin - some scoffed and rest frozen
Filled in and posted form from council
Checked bank accounts
Did some measuring and planning for next Monday when window people will arrive. Have to clear access to all the windows, as they take out all the windows first and then put in the new ones. So I've had to devise a plan of where to put everything out of their way, including all the floor mats/rugs and furniture
They will leave me the kitchen window and do that last, so I have somewhere warm and dry to sit and can make/have some tea and food.
Sticks and spoons if you need some
Hope you all have a super Tuesday

Morning all
Thank you for the lists Valli and natty
Volunteer reading yesterday morning, cooking for the weekly meal plan in the afternoon and went to see wonder with free tixs last night. I cried buckets- its about a 10 year old with terrible facial scarring and disfiguring after countless operations since birth. He's been homeschool but parents have decided he now needs to actually go to school. The bullying and ignorance he encounters are heartbreaking but he sticks with it and overcome it. It is a beautiful film that just shows what a better place the world would be with more thought and consideration for others.
Another film that made me cry was the book thief, in places I'd held the book a arms length while reading as I didn't want to read what I knew was coming and almost didn't watch the film as I thought it would be ruined. The film was a lovely adaptation and I was actually rendered speechless at the end I just sat there with tears rolling down my face while the cinema emptied. For anyone who hasn't read or seen it you will realise it doesn't end well when I say it's based in a nazi occupied country during the war and is narrated by death. Who in the film has the most kind reassuring voice as he travels round gathering up the souls he needs to bring into his care.
Today I've got to blitz lounge and bathroom to catch up, hopefully a friend round for coffee and catch up before work then afterschool club tonight.
Hugs good wishes and coping vibes to all who need/want them. XSPC~12 ot 124

Friend was a no show again, but on the plus side I'm getting my house really nice and tidy every Tuesday. Toninght after work I've got friends hubby coming round with his kitchen fitter mate to discuss the possibilities for my kitchen when I have it done and give me some options and costs.
Got to head for work now and have some sewing for a friend to squeeze in between getting home and afterschool club. Kitchen bathroom lounge and hall/stairs/landing are all looking good.
See you all later. XSPC~12 ot 124
