I'm afraid I won't have that publication under my roof.
My son-in-law gets it as he says the footie's good coverage and my DD and I do the crossword, not as easy as one would think. In fact when my pal and I go away for our yearly spring holiday she prints them up so we can do them over breakfast.Usually we take it in turns to fill a clue in.0 -
I don't read that paper so doesn't really matter that much.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

No offence to anyone who has been printed, maybe its just badly edited, but they don't come close to the words of wisdom dispensed on here.

I'll add this to the existing Tips Thread so that you can see what OSers come up with

Shaving cuts...dont put little bits of toilet roll on them, a dab of vaseline does the trick 100 times better...boxers do it to stem bloodflow on their eyebrows so why not elsewhere?, also, you dont look like fairies have been covering you in mini post-it notes0

Let's start a thread where we can share ways to save money that aren't related to what we buy. For example ways to avoid the need for gadgets!
I have just discovered that you can easily peel garlic cloves by chopping the ends off and rubbing the clove briskly between your hands. I was considering buying one of those plastic things before this; now I don't have to
P.S. I am really sorry if there is a better place for this. I have searched and couldn't find a similar thread.Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -
if you dont want your hands smelling of garlic - wear rubber gloves and the peel comes off even easier! and if you then bash the garlic with a heavy pan you dont have to buy a garlic press!!!
to save money by avoiding kitchen gadgets - an old fashioned mincer works as well (if not better) than a food processor for mincing meat or veg and can be had for only a pound or two in charity shops. Ive had mine for years and havent bought an expensive food processor as between the mincer and my stick blender I am sorted!!!0 -
if you dont want your hands to smell of garlic, and dont have steel soap (though i do highly recommend them)
wash your hands under cold running water, and use a stainless steel teaspoon like a bar of soap, rub over your hands and between your fingers, the smell will go instantly, works with onions etc as well
i just top & tail garlic and bash with the blade of my knife, i have never "peeled" garlic ever0 -
I also find if you put the garlic in warmish water first then cut off the top and bottom the skin just falls off. Onions are a lot easier to peel as well if they're soaked in warm water first and they don't make me cry so much either.0

tip i found out on here was to put some porridge oats into a mince beef concoction (chilli or spag bol type dish) I now a small pot near my herbs basket and chuck a handful in each time I make savoury mince
I also try to think of another use for something before I either throw or recycle it, I reuse plastic bags for nappy sacks, loo rolls for plant pots, butter wrappers for greasing cake tins etcCross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
