Everywhere I have worked has had strict policies about on electrical goods with the correct dated inspected stickers on may be used on the premises. None of them allowed home items to be on the to be inspected list.
We don't have any policy about charging phones/electricals. I think it depends what you do. There was never a policy about this anywhere I worked.
I occassionaly charge phone at work, couple of times a month I would say when I am running low. I do not bring things in especially.
But I wouldn't say it is as bad as stealing.. it's a bit of a give and take, isn't it? I don't charge work for taking phone call few minutes after work hours ended or for fuel or time when I have to get milk for meetings.. Or when I have to go to the bank..
Where I think someone who works at a conveyor and puts down every second of overtime probably wouldn't look at it the same. Also canteen full of phones on charge would look odd:D
After what you said I wondered how much would it cost... Found this.

I have some expired popcorn kernels are they safe to p and eat tia
Back in the day, my mum would buy dry stuff & it would go straight into glass bottles, hence no idea of sell by date etc.
Only way to know is to look at it (colour variation, mould growth etc) cook a few, smell it and taste it.
With most sell/use by dates, they are there for the sellers & not for the buyers benefit.
I would def use them & you can buy corn kernels from any ethnic shops, yum i fancy some popcorn now!No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
If you don't have an Asda Holland and Barrett sell it (bit more expensive than the Asda price though). Tesco used to - I've just finished a bag of theirs but couldn't find any when I went in on Saturday.
Yep, got my last bag from Tesco (at least a year ago and it was a small bag, not a 1kg), can't see any online anymore.
If anyone has a Freeport locally, they normally have a Holland and Barrett shop and everything is buy one get 2nd item half price on a permanent basis.0 -
You know how it is, you take your hot toast out of the toaster, spread Butter / Marg on the toast, then try and spread Marmite, and it slides all over the place and is difficult to spread evenly.....
Solution...
Spread the Marmite first on the toast, it soaks in immediately, then spread the Butter / Marg on top !!!
 I do wish you hadn't said this - I'm going to have to try that now :rotfl:0 -

If you find your bread breaks when buttering or it is difficult to butter, try using the back of a spoon instead of a knife.
It sounds mad, but I tried it and it does work.0 -
For a sandwich, Marmite one slice, Butter / Marg the other, then put together.
If bread breaks, try spreading either, with knife nearly horizontal, so the "force" is sideways, works for me.
My fav bread is Co-op Value Wholemeal, soft, not dry, freezes well.
Toasts well too, I do my toast back-to-back, soft & crispy at the same time.
It's exactly the same bread as their more expensive brand !Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Marmite... getting the last bit out of the jar
I discovered this today !! After many years.
If you place the Marmite jar on its side, when nearly empty, the Marmite flows to the flattish side of the jar from the bottom, making it very easy to get a good knife full a few times.....
It also only takes around the time for bread to toast, to do this !
Lid off, you can see it moving, just like lava.
Or of course keep the nearly empty jar on its side in the cupboard. Lid on !
Open the jar upright, just in case there's a bit more Marmite remaining than you thought.
Works a treat.
Then fill with boiling water and whoosh it around abit and add to gravy:j

Thought that this might be of interest to someone.
Last week we visited Yorkshire and drove across the Moors..fabulous.
I was so surprised at the number of gate stands outside remote houses.
We stopped at one outside a monastery and bought 2 dozen free range eggs for £3. .....less than I normally pay.0
