recycle and reuse as much as possible menu plan and never take more cash to the shops than needed to cover the essential stuff you want to buy and I only ever use cash to buy food anyway.I have a seperate food purse every month and when its empty then thats it until next month I can't remember the last time that happened and I always have money left at the end of the month which goes into my holiday fund
Plus of course the 'essential shopping list 'of stuff thats 'needed' by the kettle in the kitchen.0 -

Definately a case of menu planning and checking what you need to accomplish the weeks menu and only adding what you are short of to the shopping list. And put leftovers in the freezer straight away - how often I have gone to the fridge and had to throw out stuff that should have gone in the freezer!Every days a School day!0

Just found this http://pinterest.com/pin/189643834280466657/ which I have just tried and it tastes great.
My daughter bought a popcorn maker when reduced to £5 (Hannah Montana one) and we never use it as I didn't like the taste, texture of the popcorn.
Just tried the method above and it is amazing how different it tastes, plus it comes out crispy instead of rubbery when I used the popcorn maker.
Give it a try, eating plain popcorn is considered one way to help lose weight.
The only supermarket I can find showing kernels online is Asda and they are 1kg bags for £2.50, they would last you months!

If you don't have an Asda Holland and Barrett sell it (bit more expensive than the Asda price though). Tesco used to - I've just finished a bag of theirs but couldn't find any when I went in on Saturday.0 -

I would think they would be ok to eat, after all, look at the amount of food people buy from Approved Food and other places that is out of date.

Just come across this wonderful thread:
My 2p worth, i have a sunny patio at the front of the house (got a large drive so not v visible) & dry my clothes in there for most of the year (clothes rack). I open the window so there is ventilation & it smells divine!.
I only use the dryer in the coldest months (even today its really sunny here!) & reuse the water from the condenser for something or another. I let the water settle over night as the dust settles at the bottom, then use for the loo/plants etc.
I also leave the kitchen door wide open & make sure the dryer vent is not covered, hence a warm hallway!.
I only use the cupboard dry option on dryer (40c in machine) (which is quicker & less energy used) & for the very very rare times things have not dried 100% i leave those out overnight so they are ready the next morning.
I shake the clothes hard as soon as they are out of the dryer & fold them straight away (loosely), really cuts down on ironing.
Shirts & stuff you see i.e uniform gets hung up on hangers, everything else into the cupboard TBH can't actually remember the last time i ironed!.
With regards to essentials washing, only do one a week. A coloured one & alternate with a white one the following week. Have learnt fast enough not to put something in the wash unless it actually needs a wash. I know someone who changes their towels/duvets everyday, would kill me! but duvets, towels etc have their own separate wash days.
Ummm also am thinking of getting free solar panels fitted in my south facing garden. I know people say that your effectively renting your roof out, but as long as i am getting my usage from it, that's all that matters eh!.
In the loo squash my toilet paper roll so kids are aware how much they use! (got that from another mse thread!). Ok that's all i can think of top of my head HTHNo one said it was gonna be easy!0
