Just remembered another one which I actually did this morning. I have to use a walking stick to get about, and the rubber stoppers on the end cost me around £2.50 a time at the local cobblers shop I only seem to wear them down on one side ,so what I do is get a pair of pliers and turn the stopper round so it wears evenly it extends the life of the stopper by around 4-5 months .Not a lot in the scheme of things but it does save me a few bob in replacing it quite so often0

For me it is realising that I often paid someone to do something I could do myself, but didn't. I mean simple things that seemed to have some form of mysticism about them for me like plumbing or electrics or even basic building repairs.
I have just bought an element for my small oven, it was £43 yet I was quoted over £130 for a man to come out and do it for me. A 15 minute job that even I managed!
I do look after the pennies, every day, but I am now willing and prepared to take on things that I thought were 'skilled' when often they are not! Saving £'s makes it easier for me to save penniesDont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing'0
