I can only dream of elaines bargains, I don't think I've ever seen that much stock at 50% off in my stores!

Well done elaine, you and TM are both so lucky to have a store like yours.

    Evening all!

Thanks to those who helped with my double up query, sorry I've been away with family for the weekend so no time to respond. The game was £43 full price, so effectively £21.50 in points. I've reserved it at Argos for £29.99 to give me time to make a decision on whether it's worth returning the original or not. I would be making a genuine return of one single item rather than multiple items bought specifically for the purpose, so I don't mind if it raises my profile as such.

I suspect it may come down to whether the SA will give a full refund or whether I'll be told it's half the value on a gift card! I part paid for the shop using a card so that might make a difference.

DH has to book a virgin train soon and I just asked him to go through Nectar, he said no as he's collecting their own points?? Can't win :o

Mhoc, what about a nice Joules scarf? They have some half price and meet the ideal of nice quality and a good brand https://www.joules.com/Womens-Clothing/Scarves
We have so far only managed full value on store cards rather than cash or card repayment but our purchases are very obvious...one store said 50% one store card so we didn't return there. Some in the early days are on receipt as paid via £100 vouchers, £100 cash (as the tills weren't taking 200 in vouchers), these ones I may try and insist that only the vouchers go on a store card....

oo I like this idea - some nice designs and a good price.

Also its a bit more high end then the usual Marks

I wonder if they do click and collect as we actually have a Joules in our Neros town and I could do a Quidco bonus order

If accessories are appropriate perhaps Claire's vouchers would be the ticket ;)
    I think....

It may have been a good suggestion for both of us as I've just spotted one in the sale that my mum would like :D

I am not aware of anyone reporting they were refunded half back - a few have been told that is the policy (it isn't) but going another time or asking them to check has resulted in full refunds in cash, on debit/credit cards or Refund Cards.

The tandcs say the normal refund policy applies and MSE have highlighted this too - so if you have changed your mind you are at liberty to return it. For £13 difference I would.

I've only got one Sainsbury's near me so it'll just be a case of crossing fingers! Wouldn't be the end of the world if I get a gift card, as long as it is for the full amount and providing I can spend it on fuel. Knew i should have just held out for Black Friday for the game. :o

I've also accidentally bought three Fitbits as I bought one direct from Fitbit on sale, then it was cheaper from H Samuel with a code today, but I accidentally put the wrong delivery address and thought it would be less faff to cancel and reorder than try and change the address. I was wrong :rotfl::rotfl:

Its that time of the year again - I am stuck on getting Christmas gifts for my sisters yet again and I have left myself with just over 2 weeks to think of something.

Help desperately needed please, any suggestions very grateful for

In recent years I've given a set of candles in glass jars (from Marks) Bromley soap in a cute Christmas tin and last year it was a set of Body Shop handcreams in various flavors.

On the No list are - cook books, any books really, make up, perfume, kitchen gadgets, garden tools or ornaments, bird feeders, any technology, handbags, foodie type gifts, calender's, slippers, socks, any posh chocolate or alcohol.
It also has to be a physical item - not a gift card or an e voucher.

I did wonder about maybe getting some sort of set with a miniature brolly and gloves or a nice scarf - one sister has arthritis so possibly the leather time gloves wont do ...
They both have dogs so maybe a dog pattern

My other idea was maybe some sort of dressing gown set but possibly this might be too bulky - we meet monthly and they use buses so it has to be a portable gift.
But then I thought maybe instead of toweling maybe a silky type dressing gown - I had a look at the Bayliss type sets but there is no way of telling the sizing and neither of them are petite.
And they probably are more the towelling type of dressing gown users - but there again I dont think they traipse around the house in dressing gowns all morning anyway ...

So then its back to the glove, brolley, scarf combination ...

There is no set budget - ideally something that you cant buy in a supermarket but not too high end either, maybe above the Marks level

How about something totally off the wall. A customised gnome :rotfl::rotfl: There is a few places that do them online including etsy.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
