It's so heavy to lug out of a cupboard! I made a cover for mine, very simple to do, oval bits at the side (straight at the base) and one piece of fabric running from the base at the front, over the Kenwood, down to the base at the back. I stiffened it with an old coat but the top fabric matches my kitchen blind. That way the mixer stays clean and every so often I chuck the cover into the washing machine. I made the cover a bit loose so it's easy to put on and off. I keep my K beater and other implements in the bowl.
I hope the cake goes well!
I made a cover for my prospero, and all my whisk/beater live in the bowl. I made my cover from plastic coated fabric that is normally used for tablecloths, it is covered in little robins :rotfl::rotfl:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Hi, re GWR points, my additional batch purchases from 22 and 23 have all gone on and are in my account. I have some more due tomorrow so hope this continues.
For me, this offer is well worth any risk as it equates to a minimum of 70% off my shopping at Sainsbury - so far, every £10 to spend at S has cost me £3 and most of mine wont make it to the next double-up because I hope to use them to stock up for Christmas. Even allowing for Sainsbury pricing this is a good deal for me.
I hope everyone’s extra points appear in accounts tomorrow.0 -
Its that time of the year again - I am stuck on getting Christmas gifts for my sisters yet again and I have left myself with just over 2 weeks to think of something.
Help desperately needed please, any suggestions very grateful for
In recent years I've given a set of candles in glass jars (from Marks) Bromley soap in a cute Christmas tin and last year it was a set of Body Shop handcreams in various flavors.
On the No list are - cook books, any books really, make up, perfume, kitchen gadgets, garden tools or ornaments, bird feeders, any technology, handbags, foodie type gifts, calender's, slippers, socks, any posh chocolate or alcohol.
It also has to be a physical item - not a gift card or an e voucher.
I did wonder about maybe getting some sort of set with a miniature brolly and gloves or a nice scarf - one sister has arthritis so possibly the leather time gloves wont do ...
They both have dogs so maybe a dog pattern
My other idea was maybe some sort of dressing gown set but possibly this might be too bulky - we meet monthly and they use buses so it has to be a portable gift.
But then I thought maybe instead of toweling maybe a silky type dressing gown - I had a look at the Bayliss type sets but there is no way of telling the sizing and neither of them are petite.
And they probably are more the towelling type of dressing gown users - but there again I dont think they traipse around the house in dressing gowns all morning anyway ...
So then its back to the glove, brolley, scarf combination ...
There is no set budget - ideally something that you cant buy in a supermarket but not too high end either, maybe above the Marks level“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
DD has just messaged me a list of shopping to get in before I go away on Tuesday. So far, she says I have to buy

Crisps

I'd probably go for a nice scarfPandora's Little Sister 30/11/17 x0 -
I did really well on the woopsies today, not as cheap as they used to be, but I got all for this for £15. my best was 1600g chicken for £1.60. Think they got mixed up with dates as ham was 2nd December, mash was 29/11 and some of the meat was 27th. The pastry was 19th Dec and was reduced because the box was open - bag inside is sealed. The buns were fresh, but were 10p as slightly dark.
Just checked and full price was £90.0 -

Yes, it does seem the simplest idea - I've just had a look at scarves with dogs on them but its difficult to judge the sizes. Or if maybe a long oblong is better than a large square shawl version ...
And they all have specific types of dogs on them - I think there dogs are just normal terrier type mongrel dogs ...
So maybe not dogs then ... but what else
I am convinced I've got Yardley perfumes, new and still sealed - I think I won them in a competition - set of maybe 4 full size ones - have to go and have a search for them tomorrow
And then go to Boots or similar so I can judge which perfume suits which sister ...
So scarf and perfume and maybe possibly something small and chocolate ....“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove.
