Thanks to the ops for the scarf ideas. I need one for a friend, not a Christmas gift, just a gift and the shops seem to only have heavy weight winter one.

Now the decision of what what to buy as I am spoiled for choice :T

X-factor. Putting all 4 through, how stupid is that, might as well just save a week and do the full final tonight if thats the case.

Huh? Did we watch different shows?

Its that time of the year again - I am stuck on getting Christmas gifts for my sisters yet again and I have left myself with just over 2 weeks to think of something.

Help desperately needed please, any suggestions very grateful for

In recent years I've given a set of candles in glass jars (from Marks) Bromley soap in a cute Christmas tin and last year it was a set of Body Shop handcreams in various flavors.

On the No list are - cook books, any books really, make up, perfume, kitchen gadgets, garden tools or ornaments, bird feeders, any technology, handbags, foodie type gifts, calender's, slippers, socks, any posh chocolate or alcohol.
It also has to be a physical item - not a gift card or an e voucher.

I did wonder about maybe getting some sort of set with a miniature brolly and gloves or a nice scarf - one sister has arthritis so possibly the leather time gloves wont do ...
They both have dogs so maybe a dog pattern

My other idea was maybe some sort of dressing gown set but possibly this might be too bulky - we meet monthly and they use buses so it has to be a portable gift.
But then I thought maybe instead of toweling maybe a silky type dressing gown - I had a look at the Bayliss type sets but there is no way of telling the sizing and neither of them are petite.
And they probably are more the towelling type of dressing gown users - but there again I dont think they traipse around the house in dressing gowns all morning anyway ...

So then its back to the glove, brolley, scarf combination ...

There is no set budget - ideally something that you cant buy in a supermarket but not too high end either, maybe above the Marks level

Hi Mhoc and the rest of you lovely and crazy eliters,
Some of you may remember me from the early days of the first Supermarket price match or your money back scheme back in the good old days when Tescies matched with DTD. I've more recently been a lurker as RL has got in the way and I've not had much of use to update you with.
Now to Mhoc and anybody else with a present buying dilemma :)
Do you know if you have a French Market coming to you anytime soon? We had one come to our town a few weeks ago and they had some lovely non food (and foodie gifts too but i saw you don't want those)
They had hand made soaps from Provence, lavender, leather goods, toiletries, wooden items, music and there was a lovely husband and wife team selling scarves, hats and gloves for men and women. This is the link for the market organiser unfortunately the stall holders weren't allowed to hand out their own cards and were giving these details only. http://franceathome.com/calendar_events/events/events.html
This will show when and where the market is going to be over the next few weeks and hopefully they will appear nearby to you in time for you to have a peak and find something you love for pressies.
The wife, a very bubbly, chatty and lovely lady named Angelique had the stall for the ladies and the husband (i've forgotten his name) had gloves hats and scarves for men. Both have gorgeous quality stuff at fab prices i.e. wool mix, cashmere, cotton mix and Angelique had some really beautiful Pashminas for ladies not your usual poly acrylic stuff at all. Her husband had some beautiful tweed items for men too. They had such beautiful stuff and I bought about 6-7 pieces from them. On the day Angelique was offering 2 Pashminas for £12, i actually thought they were £12 each because they're high percentage cashmere mix with some cotton and viscose so was very nicely surprised and they're super soft and can be machine washed on a gentle cycle. There were gorgeous colours, many designs, modern and classic and in case you can't tell already i was very impressed. She had regular long scarves, shawls, sarong type, bobble type faux fur and other kinds of decorated scarves too. I bought many as gifts and am excited to give them because they look like they should have cost a lot more than they did.
Anyway if they're coming near you have a look if you can and you can contact Muriel this French Market's organiser and manager to find out if lovely Angelique and her wares are coming with them.
Sorry the post is so long but they were great and worth a look if coming near you,
    HTH :j

Elaine, well done on the whoopsies. Look back for the 1000 point link. Someone posted one yesterday or the day before which worked for people. I'm going to look for it later and if I find it, I'll repost.

Pippo, I have just discovered a new game with my Kenwood. (Enterprise, not sure if the Prospero has a liquidiser -- brilliant idea re cover by the way.) I have the original liquidiser, which I use very little, to be honest, as a food processer is usually better. But it was advertised as being able to turn granulated sugar into castor and icing sugar and I use it for that. I had a brainwave tonight. I keep Parmesan rinds in the freezer and use them for soup, but it's not very successful. I have in the past tried to zap them in the food processor, but that didn't work well either. Tonight I popped them (defrosted) in the Kenwood's liquidiser and it worked like a charm! You have to keep your hand on the lid though, or the little plug thing shoots off, as I discovered to my cost! Parmesan is so expensive so I am very pleased about this.

I've also accidentally bought three Fitbits as I bought one direct from Fitbit on sale, then it was cheaper from H Samuel with a code today, but I accidentally put the wrong delivery address and thought it would be less faff to cancel and reorder than try and change the address. I was wrong :rotfl::rotfl:

So gutted I missed the fitbit offer, have been wanting the new charge 3.:(

I thought last week they said they were putting everyone through and then they didn't?

You got it right michaels last week the 2 acts who got eliminated should have missed out on the Live Tour but Simon said he was breaking the rules and they were in the Live tour so 8 instead of normal 6 will be touring :)
