Good afternoon all!
Just taking a break from deep cleaning/rediscovering the bathroom in the house and having a spot of lunch.
The boys are both back at school :j :j :j (does that make me a bad mum?)
Did a quick blitz in the caravan this morning, followed by an hour of frenzied ironing, so now I need to take a leaf out of Kaz's book and clear the table of it all so we can eat later!
Rolled shoulder of lamb in the slow cooker for dindins later and my new carpenter is on site starting the repairs to the main beam in our lounge. He is swearing a lot under his breath as the wood appears to be harder than concrete.
Must order the kitchen tiles for the cooker splashback in a mo. I'm looking forward to doing that next week, then the new, fancy range cooker can be connected up, the extractor (arriving Thursday) can be fitted and the Heritage cast iron cowl can go on outside to cover the ventilation grille. One handle to mark and fit on the last cupboard and pattern for shutters to be passed to the chappie for pricing. Kitchen is nearly there!!!
I'm in for both the Christmas cards and the Secret Santa - will PM respective ladies later when I'm at karate with the boys, after school.

I'm defo joining the November Challenge please, Natty, and my pledge is to turn out every single drawer and cupboard in the house (other than OH's personal ones) one at a time. I will be making a listy of every space I can think of later and will do at least one a day.
I spent the morning turning out the bureau, which has needed doing for 20 years. A lot went in the bin, some went where it would be much more useful, there's a box on the table for OH to check nothing needs to be kept and then it's on its way to the CS. There is now space in there!Mademoiselle wrote: »Have been posting here now for just over a month and can honestly say you lot are marvelous. No my house is not perfect (no where near) but it is better than it was before I joined you and most importantly it is getting better (little by little) but better.
And that's the secret of it, Mademoiselle. Every tiny step forward a week, cumulatively, means we end up with a house that isn't a complete tip. If it weren't for Flyladies I'd have given up a long, long time ago. Everybody who posts makes it possible and I for one am very grateful.

Hello all- sorry I have been missing for a couple of weeks. All the upset of my sisters death the fact we still haven't had funeral 3 months on got too much. My lovely GP has helped me and I feel a bit better and able to join in again.
Have had a tidy round and got rid of some old papers - not a lot but its a start.
Hugs to all who need one

Back from work, just having a catch up read and preparing the evening meals for the week. Ds2 has kindly offered to do a parcel return for me so saves me going out for that.
Hugs to all that need them. Going to grab a cuppa and get started now.SPC~12 ot 124

Two hours spent thrashing out the minutes, followed up by two emails seeking clarification. I feel a lot better now that the froglet is no more.Better is good enough.0 -
What in blazes is wrong with the offspring of the parish? They've been absolutely foul since the moment they walked in the gates today - and the last thing I need is for the lovely Teach First Trainee to go off sick with stress (or a stroke), never mind the little turds that nearly kicked a fire door off its hinges because they were trying to frighten me - just as well I wasn't about to walk out of the door at the time as it burst open and hit the wall with such force, there's a crack in the doorframe and an inch thick gouge out of the solid brick wall. And if the new site manager thinks that he's going to get away with trundling off home before 3pm any other day of his employment when I'm working until 5 and he's employed to remain onsite until 9pm because he's on the late shift, he's got another thought coming.
Been running around like a chook bereft of its cranium today, fixing things, sorting things, baffled by how an entire room's network of computers has completely failed to work with the other equipment it worked perfectly with until Friday afternoon, herding brats out of my face and cleaning up the mess they have left behind them.
We still have unreliable hot water. The second repair man has been and claimed that we don't get hot water because too many people in the area are using theirs, and we shouldn't ever have had a combination boiler fitted in the first place. It worked fine for the first three years.
Himself hasn't updated me as to whether the interview people have contacted him with a decision today as they said they would do. So I think we can safely assume that he didn't get it. The catch is that probably means he'll go all emo and refuse to look for anything else for another nine months - seeing as I pointed out that finances are such that if I can't pay the bills, he will have to go and live with his mother and I'll sleep on the streets, only to be met with a completely infuriating 'don't make me stressed by telling me off' instead of a reassuring 'don't worry, I will keep looking and get something'.
To top it all off, we're being crucified by Child Maintenance to the tune of £300 a month from this payday and, thanks to rail 'improvements' closing every station on the way, it's going to be physically impossible to get back down to Dartmoor to see his family for Christmas.
However, Himself says he's changed the bedlinen and is about to cook, as he's actually done some washing up. Hoo-bloody-ray.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Better late than never....:o
Thank you Valli for last week's lists. Thank you Natty for this week's and the November challenge. I need to do that one, but no idea at the mo how much to aim for. Lots, but I guess that isn't very specific! I'll have a think...
((Hugs)) to Katiecat. I hope LW and Mr LW are ok.
I have achieved very little flying wise today after all day at work. Although I have just given the kitchen a s&s, and the bins are out for the morning. We are a bit in limbo at the moment, as FiL passed away last night. It wasn't a shock, just sad. DD and I are battling on in our own way, DH is coping on and off.
PM re secret santa added to my list for tomorrow. I think I will be home alone. Is it so bad that I am hoping we get the heavy rain forecasted, so that I can catch up on my lists??0
