    I'm back in this week.
Kept place tidy last week whilst DDs both home, they have both gone now along with all their freshly washed and ironed clothes!
So this week I hope to be able to progress in cleaning, also have 3 major admin tasks to tackle, but first need to clear the paperwork in the kitchen tray.
Very pleased that my having cleared junk from our bedroom, lounge & kitchen inspired my girls, DD1 has been through her room and there are now several bags of stuff to go to charity, tip etc. DD2 even turfed a few things out of her wardrobe that were too small or worn out.
Working this afternoon so will see what I can get done before lunch.
    Let's get going!

Morning ladies. Thanks Natty for the new thread.

We're staying put for now so the house search is off, luckily. I didn't fancy it. So I can start to get the house in shape. I think that's some of the reason I fell behind last week, motivation was lacking.

Our washing machine broke at the weekend so we've got a brand new one coming tomorrow (eek!) I've never had to research and buy a machine before so although depressingly expensive, was actually quite fun haha. It's got a 5 year warranty and with soon to be two in cloth nappies I need a decent one!

DS has croup and was a bit dramatic with it on Saturday night (think ambulance etc) so we're all a bit knackered. He's got steroids and inhalers now so is on the up.

Hopefully things will settle down soon, for all of us jumping from crisis to crisis!

Apart from flying, today I have to -
    • pop to the shops to buy mould remover
    • instruct Dad on mould removal/washing machine removal :rotfl:
    • empty out the fridge of old food
    • finally manage to wash my hair

    Morning all
Thank you for the lists I will be in later to update on how I did, working all day, volunteering for the morning reading. Then paid stuff this afternoon followed by cooking session to get the meals for the week made. I've found this helps as I'm working so much now and have 3 nights I don't finish till later.
I've signed up for the card swap and secret Santa so sent messages for those.
Over the weekend I cleared the ironing mountain as it was quite shameful and could be seen looming above the windowsill and over the back of the settee. The mending pile only has a few bits on I hope to tackle tomorrow and I will definitely be joining the November clearance challenge. Hoping to clear the smaller back bedroom and did take a load of stuff from there to the CS over the weekend.

Hugs good wishes and posi vibes to all who need them I'll catch up after work. X

Thanks to Valli and Natty for the lists.

    So far this morning
I've flung DD out to school after curling her hair.
Made my bed and tidied up in there
Folded the clothes on the winterdyke ready to get put away
After DDs attempt at clearing her room I've gone in and finished it, dusting and the like!
Stripped DDs bed and flung it in the WM
Collected washing from various places that DD has dropped it!

Got a few phone calls to make this morning so I'll quickly plump cushions then get on with That!

LW positive vibes and loads of love being sent your way xxx

Thank you donnajt I'm looking forward to nap time already! Although he was been quite chilled out this morning so I can't complain.

While DS is taking years to finish his breakfast I will start flying. I've S&S the kitchen already. Let's see how much I can get done!

Monday - Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level One...
    Vacuum floors and sofas

    Level Two...
[STRIKE]Dusting, even if around everything [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets[/STRIKE]
Water any thirsty plants, wipe their poor neglected leaves!!

    Level Three...
[STRIKE]Wipe light switches, sockets (make sure they are not switched on!!) [/STRIKE] and banister
Tidy shoes, coats and bags .. wash any that need washing in preparation for cold weather!! See if there are any that don't fit, past their best or just plain uncomfy which could leave the house!
[STRIKE]Put up linings or winter curtains to keep out those draughts. [/STRIKE](I am on the hunt for curtains for our LR so will leave this but it is on my longer term to do list)

    Extra Mission:
•Paperwork clearance.. spend 15 minutes minimum sorting through those piles of paper.
•Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself
    •Clean a window or two.
[STRIKE]•Binbag dance.. Get a binbag.. fill it and bin it!!![/STRIKE]
•Ring someone you love, just to tell them you love them!!
•Clean light fittings, skirtings even the ones behind furniture. Clean fire-surrounds. Wipe sofa's down.
•MAD half hour..is there anything that you need to do a.s.a.p.

9.30am - I basically just tidied in preparation for cleaning, and packed all DS's toys away ready to do a toy rotation.

10.30am - Have vaguely tidied everywhere as my dad decided he was coming round this morning rather than this afternoon, and he's weird about the cats and they apparently make all the mess and smells, not DS... Have also S&S bathroom, and washed my hair! Hoorah!

3pm - used a magic sponge and some vinegar to clean up DS's "artwork" on my chairs, and food stains off the walls

  • So it's just gone 10 and so far today I have:

Had bedroom and bathroom windows open for 10 - 15 minutes (too cold to leave open any longer)
    WM on
    Stripped bed
    Tidied clothes and bathroom
    Scrubbed loo
Cleared fire and brought in wood ready for later
Tidied living and plumpted up cushions
    Dusted living and stairs
Vacuumed stairs, living room & kitchen
Steamed living room and kitchen floors (first time in months I'm ashamed to say)

It has only really taken me just over an hour so, ok floors not great as they haven't been cleaned for ages (just vacuumed) they are porous a bit like quarry tiles so marks come and go. But I am not worrying about what I haven't done but looking back at what I have done and hopefully little by little things will improve.

Have been posting here now for just over a month and can honestly say you lot are marvelous. No my house is not perfect (no where near) but it is better than it was before I joined you and most importantly it is getting better (little by little) but better.

Off to remake bed before cat settles back on it and then coffee and paperwork.

Hugs, sticks & spoons to all that need. Remember you're al great in your own way
    xx

  • Hi all x

So I spent an hour on the phone to tax credits, child benefit and housing but everything now sorted.
TD DDs bedding and remade the bed
    Stuck another load in
Fed my face and took my meds
Showered, dressed and blow dried my hair.
Sorted DDs stuff for dance class tonight and school tomorrow.
Sorted food to take to work
I'm now decluttering a cuppa before I need to go catch the bus.

Hopefully the WM will finish before I leave and I can stick that load on the winterdyke.

Will try to pop in after I finish but I'm not promising as I'm 2.30-10.30 all week! Have a great day everyone xx
