Just logged in and you're back. Hello again dunstonH
Good news (i was hoping it was a temporary departure).
I have to say that i don't where i would be without the knowledge shared by Dunstonh and many others. I may not post much, but you can bet i'm reading loads. Thanks again0 -
I would like to say thank you to everyone who posted. Reading through the threads I am astonished at the response and very humbled by it.
I don't only post here to help people. Other posters have taught me things and it allows me to keep up my knowledge in areas where I may not have much involvement. There are countless times someone has said something that has prompted me to look it up or adjust my opinion. So, I thank you all as well.
It was pleasing to see posts from people that mentioned that whilst they disagreed at times, they enjoyed participating in the discussion. And that is what a discusson board is all about. Adults discussing things and not always agreeing but having a jolly good debate in the process. The minute discussion is snubbed out, you lose the purpose of a discussion board.
With investments, there is no best way and it is all about opinions. Whether it is tracker, managed, hybrid, advised, DIY or whatever, these are all opinions which we discuss time and again and most appreciate that. There are some bad ways to invest. Such as using unregulated, high risk mini-bonds thinking they are deposits. But enough said about them for now!
The important thing is that we continue to debate in good faith and are allowed to continue to debate in good faith. And I very much hope that we will be in the future.
Must have been an interesting experience, just like reading your obituary before you die.0 -
I'm glad dunstonh has been reinstated, but I feel MSE need to come clean about what happened. Lack of transparency in this kind of situation is not a good thing.0

Dunstanh
Glad you are back
You seem to have made a lot of posts since then!Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
