Had a visit from DS1 this morning - he took one sniff at my shank soup in the SC and declared that he would 'see me later'! That's half of it gone instantly!!!

Phone call from DD to say that she will visit after school with DGD1 and DGS1 because it's DG3's birthday today and she want to be here when he arrives with his mum and dad later.

Looks like my house is going to be like a railway station this tea-time. Now wondering where I can stash the SC and it's contents and how to get rid of the wonderful aroma that's been emanating from it since last night:confused: .

Sorry to hear about your trip to hospital PenPin - try to relax and just let them do their jobs, dear. It's the only way to cope with enforced hospital. They have to do what they have to do - you can either go with the flow (and stay calm in the process which helps them and you) or you can allow yourself to get really worked up which won't do you any favours and may even hinder your treatment. Have you ever taken up yoga or meditation - I've never done it myself, but it does help to take your mind away from your situation to a 'pleasanter place'. I know that sounds 'daft and airy-fairy' - but some deep breathing and meditation can really help when you have to endure something that is so unpleasant. Hope it all works out for you - we are thinking of you and looking forward to your OH posting to let us know how you're doing  .

  • Afternoon all. Got out today which was brill. Went to Drs to get certificate for work then got to have a jacket potato at local cafe. Was yummy, especially as it wasn't eaten in bed!!! Talking to OH about career plan and he's thinking about going into teaching too which is very exciting!

Been doing some organising of paperwork etc. It's boring but at least it's getting stuff sorted before my life turns chaotic when baby 1982 arrives!!! Got my face on again - at least today it got to be appreciated by people who aren't OH!!!

Hi, not been around over the past week as my school has been getting OFSTEDed. Anyway we're all shattered but the whole school received the grade of OUTSTANDING! :j So we're all feeling very proud of the children and of ourselves. My school is in a poor area but our SATs results are very good. The children join us in the nursery at the age of 3 mostly with low abilities and then stay with us until they are 11, so we have 8 years to work very hard with them.
My os ways have been very poor as I've been in work all week and often working till bedtime each evening. I will catch up over the next few days. Tomorrow is our church's autumn fair so another busy day for me.
    Hope everyone is ok!

Today I finally took the plunge and offered something on Freecycle for the first time - how nerve-racking (sp?). Anyway it was snapped up straight away so am now feeling a sense of achievement. Will be taking the plunge again - I've got some candlesticks (from my celtic/gothic decor phase) that are in need of a caring home!

My ham shank stew/soup with dumplings (done in SC) was a resounding success with the family and there is still lots left as well as another jug of stock to be added to make it stretch even further.

DD is still waddling around with her bump and no signs of DGD2 putting in an appearance just yet - going to start another cardigan tonight.

I'll be back later to check the evenings postings.

    Hello all!

sorry bit late getting here today but I first had to take DS1 to work - then as the other two kids were off school today (EID holiday) so they wanted to go to the Kids Gym Session at 10am - They only let in 20 kids so unless you get there very early you miss out. Got there at 9.45 already 9 mums in front of me!!! Still we got in and they had a good time burning off energy on the trampolene, beams and of course the padded playhouse! which of course I have to go on aswell - just to keep eye on the kids you understand!;) :rotfl:
Do love a good lollap in the ball pit!:rotfl:

Then realised that DS1 had forgotten to take the football kit with him for sunday - so had to drop BIG bag of kit off at his girlfriends house for him to collect later.

Then quick lunch then off to my friends this afternoon for DH to survey his flat as part of his assessment. Walked the kids up to his local charity shops - DD got another two cuddly toys:rolleyes: and DS a toy gun - at £1.45 its much better than going into woolies!:D

Then had a very OS tea of (cough cough) McDonalds!!:D do you know I really enjoy it today!!

So there you are, what an exciting life I lead!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

pennypincher - (hugs) get better soon xx maybe you could liquidize your shepherds pie and put that thru the drip?;) that sounds better than hospital food to me!

peem - kitchen is looking good! will you also be having a fitted wine rack like nelski???:D

mrsM - well done on more weight loss! cor i must get a move on!

catowen - DH goes on the techie board, he says they are really good there and will sort your lappie problem out.

csarina - just had to google a romuska as I didnt know what it was! i do now!
