Full of admiration for those of you that have been close to plan over Christmas and even managing to lose!
I suppose SW is being realistic just offering weigh and go at this time of the year. There will be people who want to go and weigh rather than book holidays but the vast majority of Image Therapy would be the same old story of going off plan over Christmas in some form or another so not very productive. They won't close completely as they advertise themselves as all the year round.
Sorry to hear about your fall abbafan, hope you feel better soon or I think you should definitely see the GP. I think what happens with the social team is completely down to the consultant and any 'perks' are from their own pocket. I think in some groups there's a free magazine. No idea about my group as I've only stood in occasionally for the shop or raffle and wouldn't expect anything.
You seem to have made some good plans with the venue for your mini break caterina. It's very early in your SW 'journey' so you might want to stay on plan as much as you can rather than undo all your good work. You could afford the syns to have a taste of DH's puddings (if he'll let you:D) but stick to fresh fruit for your own.
I'm still just skirting around the plan until after New Year. The worst was probably Christmas Eve when I had loads of beige canapes.Since then it's just been odd bits of dressing, cream, mayo, gravy, a few chocolates and, of course, the wine syns;).
Today I've had a SW breakfast (scrambled eggs) and will have a SW lunch (last of cold meat with pickles). For dinner we're having cod and SW chips but I'm going to do cauliflower cheese which is an old favourite that I took off the menu when I started SW and now we only have it as a treat.
Hope everyone else is managing not to go too mad and will get back on plan soon. Realistically I think it'll be next Tuesday for me on the new thread but I'm keeping in touch so that I don't stray too far.:)0 -
Thank you all for the congratulations! Good luck to the WIs due in the next few days.
I have a challenging few days ahead of me and worried that they will set me back. I'm going for a short break with DH for 3 nights over the New Year. Breakfasts won't be a problem with poached eggs, beans and grilled tomatoes. Lunches will have to be picnics or baked potato jobs, but am concerned about dinners, it's 3 courses.
I wrote the hotel a long email saying I've dietary special needs. I said I have IBS as suggested by a member of my slimming group, rather than having to explain I'm on a diet. They take it more seriously if it's medical! I asked if i could have very low fat meals and gave a lot of examples, basic foods like plain rice, grains, potatoes and veg. Also offered to bring in my soya stuff if they don't provide etc. I hope they will do this for me. My fear is my DH because he'll eat all the nice stuff in front of me a nd he's a pudding fan. The temptation will be there facing me all the time. Ah well, one day at a time ...
I'm sure you'll be fine - is it a sit down rather than a buffet? We were all inclusive in Benidorm in October and of course I ate pretty much everything in sight!
Telling them you have IBS is a good strategy - When you tell people you're on SW, it's like "oh just have it, it won't kill you!". That's just annoying!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090 -

Maman:- Thanks. I don't expect anything either, it's just the reaction I get from people when they ask if I get anything that's all. I did get a little gift for Xmas from the consultant which was a lovely thought.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090 -
I put on 3 1/2 pounds this week,but I am very pleased - normally I put on half a stone at Xmas!:o
I am unrepentant,I always meant to go off plan. I only put on 2 lbs in the whole 40 weeks I have been slimming,(1 1/2lbs and 1/2 lb) so some would say I did badly, but I had my fave chocolate liqueurs, and profiteroles, and my daughter's delicious corn beef plate pie and salmon buns, and enjoyed it all.And a Chinese takeaway yesterday didnt help either:eek:
Bit of a sad month for me at times, within a period of 5 days I had the anniversaries of my mother, brother, and sister's deaths, and have the first anniversary of my other sister's death on 2nd January,so I always want a joyful Xmas as a comfort for the sadness.Had a great Xmas anyway. I was very flexible with the syns,(some would say I was practically a contortionist) and after 3 months alcohol free I probably used 80 syns for my whiskey over the week, and thoroughly enjoyed them all.. Good job whiskey is carb free:D:D:D
Have a Happy New Year,people!!!!:beer:0 -

Having been offline for about a week, I have managed to survive Christmas with only a half pound gain, which I was happy about. So with the mammoth gain the week before I have had a half stone gain over the Christmas period.
Started back on plan today, as weigh in was a day late this week, but I am totally on it.
Today's food:
Breakfast - fruit salad
Lunch - noodles
Dinner - Christmas dinner soup
HA - milk
HB - coconut
Syns - miso (0.5), there will be a very small amount in the soup allowing 1, cake which my daughter made so I have to eat it, but will be only a small slice and within my synsZebras rock0 -
Longs i dont put more than 2lb on:o
Do they not say anything if you dont get weighed? or are you social team?
It's not a problem. Several target members don't weigh weekly, although have to say we're all social team as well! There is also one target member guy who very occasionally doesn't weigh but that isn't very often.

Thanks for the chart Kathryn. I'd wondered where you were - glad you weren't in hospital which is what I'd thought.
Congratulations to PooHsticks & Sunshine on being SOTW.
I had a cheeky WI at home this morning and looks like it was just 1lb on which isn't too bad considering how much junk I've eaten compared to the usual diet! But it would have taken me out of target range so decided definitely wasn't worth risking a proper WI.
Not going away for a month in the motorhome now - DH has decided it's too cold and wants to go somewhere hot so we've been to the travel agent's in town and booked 2 weeks half board in Gambia! We're going next Friday so I've got another week to try and be good.
It's back to a good old Green day for me today:
B - pot of mixed fruit (bought in Mr Ts this morning as I didn't have anything to take from home)
L - jacket potato; beans
D - butternut squash & lentil curry/rice
HEA1 - milk; HEB2 - cheese
HEB1 - crackers; HEB2 - Alpen Light later (if I need anything)
Syns - crumpet 5; butter 4; alcohol syns later (if I want some)
