Back to reality!
Stately home visit was lovely, a fascinating slightly tumbledown place stuffed with artifacts and history in a beautiful setting. A great mix of old and new. We had a great time with family and there weren't too many disagreements among the group, which is impressive for a gathering of 20+
Lots of lovely food and drink and I'm back on better behaviour as of today
We spent yesterday trying to catch up with real life chores etc. and I am knackered. Now that the lawn has started to grow again I'm tackling the dandelions and managed to knacker a weed puller in an hour  Sending it back for a refund as it was the first time I'd used it.
Also started to reset DD's sleep expectations last night and it went relatively well (up twice, but back in her bed by 01:30 for a 5 hour spell). Probably in bed for 10 of 11 hours).
Finance stuff:- Day-to-day spending CCs cut up (I'll keep the account open as it positively affects my credit utilisation)
- £839.34 paid off 2 CCs (only 2/6 CCs are now above 60% utilisation)
- Nursery fees paid
- £0.83 OPed (you can't fire me!) :rotfl:

I am a plum! The £839 I paid off was money from my May wage, which was intended to pay for June's living expenses
Luckily I have a regular saver maturing shortly, so I will hopefully not be short
It looks like it will take more than one month to get used to "in advance" budgeting.0 -
Oh Ed! That must have been so disappointing, when you realised! At least you've actually got the money ... you plum2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Better than being a prune, however (as in the older more wrinkly version)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

The first has rolled around and after my accidental plummery of May, I have no spare money
I do, however, have:- A beautiful daughter who is learning to use the toilet!
- A gradually rising NW
- Fully funded bills and budget lines for the month
- A credit score well above the national average, but slightly below the local average (which seems fair enough)
- A little spending money
- Delicious and nutritious food
I am currently applying for a promoted post. It's a bit of a departure from what I do now, so I'd hope for an interview, but not necessarily for the job
Looking after DD today, about to drag her away from the tablet. I'm reverse searing a small joint of organic beef, I'm also defrosting a lamb shoulder to slow roast and I have made a hearty batch of HM sauerkraut. My weight hasn't doubled or anything, leftovers to be frozen!0 -
How lovely.
And toilets are good, too2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
