Thanks SL, fingers crossed!
MIL seemed shocked that we had asked pharmacist for advice, seemed to think we would be embarrassed?!
I know the past is a foreign country, but she forgets that we no longer live in rural Scotland in the 80s with a single pharmacy and rural gossip

Reminds me of when I caught impetigo when In was about 10. My mother was mortified as she had it in her mind that only 'dirty' people got it. I've later discovered that sharing gym equipment etc can be a cause and that summer I went swimming at our local pool with a friend. We had our swimsuits on under our dresses. I'd had to borrow a swimsuit from my friend because when I left home I'd no idea we were going to the pool. We didn't think to take a towel! Someone else who was swimming loaned us theirs, already sopping wet. We didn't know them from Adam. I probably picked it up there.
My Mother was obsessed with hygiene. Everything in our house was scrubbed and disinfected to within an inch of its life (and that included me and my siblings). She'd have had kittens had she known what we got up to when 'playing out'. When the Doctor diagnosed impetigo my Mum made me swear never to tell anyone what was wrong with me. I can't recall what she told people was wrong with me but it lasted about 2 weeks during a very hot school summer holiday when i wasn't allowed out of the house or to mix with any of my friends

Thanks for sharing Delichon - there's nothing so queer as parents - what a miserable summer!1

A really miserable day - drenched on the way in and the way back and still feeling very gloomy at work.On a positive note, my mini business is turning a proft already, 3/4 Lego sets sold and I'm £33.74 in the black (although I'll probably lose about a tenner of that to postage tomorrow). Should make about £45 profit by the time the last set goes2

Bring back the nit nurse. I used to get them every time I changed schools. Even my father (a teacher at the time) came home with them once. But when my son started school near London about 30 years ago at the intro meeting they actually said forget about nits, they aren't a problem - worry about worms. Uck! Thankfully he never got either & then when we moved north again we were back to worrying about nits. Who would ever have thought nits would be a good thing?

£51.34 paid off CC. Should be under £5k in two days!
All Leg0 sets sold, just under £50 profit
I will need to do a mega trip to the Post Office tomorrow, so I'll have plenty of wrapping to keep me occupied this evening! May take the car in, as five packages would be a bit extreme on the bus...

Well done on the Lego. I agree with Suffolk_lass about looking for other moneymakers. Could be a nice little earner especially if you specialise in something and don't just buy random items on spec. Been there and done that, buying random stuff on spec. Had fun but but made next to nothing!
With badmemory on the nits. My Mum must have spent my whole childhood being mortified as I was a regular with nits. What with them, the impetigo which she felt was a stigma and later on verrucas I must have been a real embarrassment to her over the years. Strangely, neither of my sisters or brother ever caught anything.3 -

Essentially I'm looking for anything collectable, easy to ship and at a 40%+ discount to RRP. Bonus points if I can get cashback or loyalty points on original purchase.
Leg0 and some toys fit that bill, as do limited Blu-Ray releases and CDs/Vinyl, but they're slower to shift.
3 Camels good for tracking values, as is HUKD.
Whisky good too, but with a very high entry point.
