Oh my, I remember when you first told us Mrs E was pregnant! Hard to believe she is almost school age! (where is  when I need it?!)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I finished the year at £2880.99/£3000 or 96.03% of my annual spend so I am sticking with a £3000 annual budget for 2026
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the grow your own in 2026 discussion thread

OMW - the weather this week! One of Mrs E's pals called her after their weekly badminton match to say that she thought that there was something wrong with our headlights. Just as well she did, as they were both out. Luckily it was just broken bulbs, but DD and I spent a very frustrating 2 hours at the dealership before they replaced them. On the way there I had to drive through a puddle that was 10s of feet wide and a good 2 feet deep. The smell of frustrated clutch was horrendous. The headlights weren't covered by our warranty, but they were covered by our Car Maintenance budget. They probably could have been fixed in 1/4 of the time anywhere else, but it was sideways rain, they did a general safety check as well and threw in a wash and hoover, which saves me two jobs
£97.83 paid off the CC between yesterday and today. Am starting to wonder whether we could pay off the whole thing by my 13th wage (the 1st of June). I feel it might be too much of a squeeze, but I am feeling fairly motivated. We'd basically need to find £31/day until then...Brighter here today, but still blowing a gale and chucking it down with rain. Time for another coffee, a quick computer game and a shower before Mrs E and DD get back from drama
Happy weekend all.2 -
When you do something, you don't do it by halves, do you!? £31 a day until then... - I am looking at doing something on 29th Feb as we will have 29 more mortgage payments at that point too - a bit like my 20 x 20s for 2020Save £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target.
