Halfords Autocentre Ceased my Engine

You went to Halfords to get you car fixed? Your problem was that all Halfords did was replace simple parts that a service would do, you car had serious issues that needed to be properly diagnosed.
When your car was overheating and sluggish a low speeds you should have taken it to Nissan then.0 -

I think the OP has got his wires (or HT leads) crossed somewhere as non of it makes sense. And half term has finished...
Not in Wales it hasn't
A (fairly drastically) wrong choice of spark plug could cause the damage by overheating, creating detonation, and eventually - if you continued driving with the car running and sounding like a bag of nails - causing seizure at around the point all your coolant exploded over you windscreen.
But you'd have to be a really unobservant and mechanically insensitive driver not to notice something was wrong before that point!0 -

The car was never fixed and the problem was never properly diagnosed resulting in the failure.0 -
If a cam timing adjustment bolt had broken could the timing have slipped over time causing the initial problems then the eventual failure?
I would ask Nissan for a better explanation of how the plugs fitted could cause the damage.0 -
i love how on moneysavingforum you post a question an you get a barrage of people:
1) pointing out spelling and typos, yes he spelt it wrong but we all know what he/she means and has correctly spelt it in the body (not subject) so we do know that they know about the correct spelling.
2) questioning the validity of OPs statement. "what you're saying cant be true, etc"0 -

Actually, the OP was edited to change that. It was just as huge a pile of wrong as the title to start with.0 -
Jesus. Sorry for blaming you for the "technician's" illiteracy.
And the other report?
Thanks for messages so far.
Halfords after investigating again did not give me a report. They only sent me an email.
Dear Mr Karthik,
Please find below a detailed report of the inspection findings. It has been discovered that the Spark Plugs are not responsible for the issues with your vehicle. The vehicle requires a complete engine replacement.
The spark plugs supplied by ECP and fitted by Halfords Hounslow were correct to application on the vehicle. The spark lugs have no caused nor contributed to the engine failure.
Causation is due to a failure of the camshaft timing drive system which has allowed the camshaft timing to desynchronise when the engine was running such that the exhaust valves and the some of the inlet valves have impacted the pistons. The repeated impact on the exhaust valves while still rotating has detached the heads of 6 valves and once free these have subsequently damaged the cylinder head, pistons and spark plugs.
The retaining bolt for the inlet camshaft adjuster has broken this could have contributed to the timing chain tension being lost along with the timing synchronisation.
Accordingly there is no evidence for liability in this matter against Halfords Autocentre Hounslow.

Sorry, you bought the plugs from ECP and took them to Halfords to fit...?0

I assume a 2013 Nissan would be out of any warranty, so Nissan have no reason to blame Halfords falsely.
Did they know Halfords had fitted the plugs, more details of the type of plug would help you understand what went wrong.
No, Nissan did not know that Halfords fixed the Spark Plug when they gave me the report.
But they know now as Halfords contacted them for details after I raised a formal complaint with Halfords.0
